Is it a sin to mix groupsets?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Forgive me, for I am a sinner. I have SRAM Red eTap with a Shimano cassette, and Praxis Zayante crank.

I've used the new SRAM 10-36 cassette and axs chain with a Campy 12 mechanical drivetrain and now have a force axs drivetrain with 10-36 cassette and Campy 12 crank. Both work great.

My son's supersix has the stock sram red crank, dura FD, and ultegra RD. They dont work well for him, we are always adjusting something. I'll be swapping everything put to sram

Here is an excellent starting point: Mixing road groupsets: what works together and what doesn’t

I have to check, but my 2012 Supersix Evo is a bit of a stew. Red 22 crankset with Ultegra rear mech, 7900 Dura-Ace front DR, coupled to 7700 Dura-Ace Shifters. The cassette is Ultegra I think.

It works fine.

woof!

It’s a 105 level bike.
In this case for the purposes of a crank-based power meter of said brand.
just considering some options and it made me wonder.
thanks!
Ride what you can afford. Normally people use Ultegra because it shifts SLIGHTLY better than the 105. And then all the rest of the parts can be 105. Shimano tends to work a lot better than Campagnolo unless it is set up correctly and you have to adjust the Campy stuff all the time to keep it perfect. But the levers feel more natural with your thump shifting to a small ring or cog and the large lever shifting to the larger ring or cog. I would suggest that in Shimano you don't go below the 105 group. The lower groups are made in China and don't have the quality.
