That stupid Nitto 65 "gold" seatpost I paid $85 for still bugs the **** out of me whenenever I see my bike in pictures.

Doesn't help that I ordered gold Nitto bar ends that are the EXACT same shade of deep gold as my stem/bars. Ben's Cycles actually took a pic of a gold Jaguar seatpost and it matches perfectly to the bars. I have a feeling that Alex Cycles "exclusive" S65 anodized posts are outsourced and the anodizing was not done by Nitto. It's like a washed up gold I could have gotten from Orgin 8 for $15.

Get a gold Miche Supertype seatpost. The color will probably match your bars & stem much better.

its a nice brass color and it matches the chain perfectly, but we all know its not brass so there goes that

i bet if you did actually get a origin8 "gold" post it would match better, lol

I'm going to see what Alex Cycles will do. I know I'm right on this issue so I'm not backing down.

I ordered my stem/bars from Ben's and they sent me a picture of a Jaguar SP72 post next to a Jaguar stem....it's an exact match in that deep Nitto gold.

Like I said before, I think Alex outsourced these posts.

It's possible. I've never seen that particular seatpost offered in anodized colors.

The gold Jag seatposts we have in stock match Nitto handlebars too.

Yeah, I knew when everyone was busting my balls, they most likely figured it was just a tiny shade of difference which I wouldn't have cared about. This S65 looks almost brass.

When ONE shop has an "exclusive" on anodized parts that no one else does, it makes me wonder a bit about if it's a factory or outsourced job.

Didn't help when someone sent me this ebay link showing a bunch of Nitto gold parts...and it was the gold I've always seen with Nitto/expected from Nitto.

Do yourself a favor - dump the gold stem and seatpost...

I had a plated frame a few years ago and foolishly decided to get "creative" by putting all anodized blue bits on it. Took me several months and cubic $ to find (somewhat)matching bars, stem, seatpost, rims, crankset. When I put all that blue s**t on - it looked so over-the-top that I immediately stripped it off and went right back to my old silver and black parts. Thank god I was able to sell most of it to recoup some of my money but...I still have the damn ano blue quill stem that I couldn't sell sitting in my spare parts box

I did the same thing in red on my Langster, and within a year started removing red pieces until it looked more like accents. With my Crave, I am going with some blue, but just three pieces and pieces that are not physically close to each other.

Yeah, at least a pound. Down to 18.5 with no real weight weenie **** besides the seatpost and carbon-railed saddle.

I got the saddle for super cheap, so I'm not worried that it's starting to tint blue from riding in jeans. Say no to white saddles, kids.

Thanks everyone for the nice words.

I do. Maybe I have been lucky, but they have held up remarkably well and I have them on two different bikes, both of which are in regular rotation on the crappy streets here. (I tried them on the one, saw that it was fine, and so ended up getting them for the other.) If anything, my supposedly bombproof Panaracer Paselas have been way less durable under those same conditions. Knock on wood I guess.
