Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

See, folks, if you get banned from BF, you too can become a beastly cyclist.

I wonder if you can put "***" in a thread title?

If a word is banned it is banned. It really doesn't matter where you use it.

I don't know what you are talking about. The only place I am fast is on BF.

You still have the force gravity*mass*sin(incline degrees) pushing you backward, you need to use muscle energy to oppose that force.

Although I think I understand where you're going with that. I suppose that the treadmill is actually aiding you some by helping turn the wheels, it seems to me that the only way to get a good workout then would be to use the incline feature.

I might be way off though. I suck at Physics.

so is there any real way to replicate numbers like those guys. I live in a completely flat place but I feel like I'm being left out because I can't do any elevation.

move to Asheville

There is a ride near me with a lot of climbing. I found out that just riding across town to get to where most people start added 500 feet. I knew it was a little hilly, but that's a lot of climbing for just going across town.
