Probably not on your radar screen (and maybe too low zoot), but have you considered the once ubiquitous Schwinn Approved side/center pulls common on Schwinn bikes from the 70s? I think the reach in cm of side pulls was encoded in the name, so the LS2.8 would be side pulls with a reach of 71mm. There are also center pull versions. Not sure how they are named though. I'm pretty sure both versions were made by Weinmann. Try searching eBay for "schwinn approved brake calipers" to see your options.

Are you looking for a threaded cap or a press-on?

Threaded. Early 80s BMX pedals with the smaller threaded spindle (if that matters).

Looks like this:

I got a couple but it's a "mixed pair: one in good shape, one with a bad scrape but threads look OK). These are both plated plastic, no idea if they have the right threads for "BMX" pedals but visually match your pic. If you want them just cover the postage and PM me your address.

Ok, thanks for the searching for my need, I really appreciate this but have found a home for the pedals and the bmx guy says no probs with the missing cap. We are doing a trade the both of us are delighted with. These pedals are crazy expensive on ebay. Me? I’m getting a decent ‘72 Super Course out of the trade.

Thanx for all the help, guys!

Anybody need stems? I have a bunch that I don't want, both 22.0 and 22.2. I am always looking for Shimano/Suntour front/rear derailleurs, downtube and stem mount shift levers, and non-aero brake lever with safety levers.

ISO:

-30.4 seatpost
-Pair of standard-pull upright bar brake levers
-An el-cheapo ISO 559 rear rim hoop
-Short grips (about 2.5" max) + conventional grips

Also - unlikely - but looking to see if anyone happens to have a set of aluminum 20" wheels already laced into a Sturmey 3-speed and front Raleigh hub for a Twenty.

-Kurt

Spoke count? I have a bunch of cheap 559 rims (single wall, no eyelets, black anodized), but I think they are all 36-hole. Or maybe they’re all 32 hole? I need to check.

36h - and that sounds about right. I want to throw one of the ex-SPIN SRF3's in it.

Ah, I’m afraid I struck out. Lots of 622 rims in the closet, but no 559. Must have used them up in the fifteen years since a mtn biker friend gifted them to me upon downsizing his parts stash.

I ordered a hub assembly off the Bay and it wasn't quite as it should have been. Campy hub with Normandy axles cones and dust covers that didn't play well with each other. So MH had to break into his stash to bring the hub back to good working order. And the left over Normandy axle cones and dust covers are searching for a new home. Free to anyone who will use them, no postage, just PM me with the info for shipping. As always first come first to get them. Smiles, MH

This went to Montana for a BF member 12-30-20 Smiles, MH

cones appear to be in fine shape and axle needs a good cleaning but functional and good replacement parts

I'll take a look at the salvaged 27" rear I brought home for the Raleigh this evening. Is it a 131mm axle or a 136mm axle?

OR, they can send me their good rim for the cost of shipping. I'm happy either way as long as my rim ends up on a bike.

Not necessarily looking for something vintage, I'd actually prefer a more modern Formula/Velocity etc type with cartridge bearings.

Oh, and standard English threading please
Okay, decided against 32 holes, now looking for 36 hole specifically. I'll probably just buy some new Origin8 hubs but I'll throw out a last call for these.

Also ISO:

CrMo steel fork, chrome, 380-385mm axle to crown, 230mm minimum steer tube, for 22.2mm quill stems. Clearance for 700c X 32mm tires ideally. Basically I'm looking for a high quality fork made for 27" wheels.

ISO: yellow bar plugs

Hi all. Been looking for a certain kind of bar plug/end/cap. Basically the basic plastic cap, like the chrome ones that come with a lot of tape nowadays, but yellow plastic. I've seen them packaged with off-brand bike ribbon, like the vinyl/leather look perforated tape, but they're all out of stock in yellow everywhere I've seen. I think they came with certain benotto/3ttt tapes as well. Anybody got any layin around? Thanks!

Can't help directly with this search, but I will note that I am partial to the old Hunt Wilde plugs. I don't see any yellow ones on eBay at the moment. Here's a white pair:

I have a pair on my Griffon. Here's a photo with a not-very-good peek at them:

can't help with the plugs, but maybe yellow Plasti Dip could be a last-resort solution?
