Well of course that's nonsense. Because they wouldn't, road signs would be translated and rounded off to the nearest whole number, and speed limits to the nearest 5 or 10, just like they have done in every other country that has converted successfully to metric.


An inch is a terrible base unit for finish carpentry, because just about every cut you make will be to some unpredictable precision between 1/16 and 5/64. Cutting to millimetres will be consistent, a good approximation of the width of your saw-cut, and get you to within a tolerance than can be fine-tuned with sandpaper.

Like most here, when it comes to tools usually metric. But speed, distance, and temperature all imperial.

But I will ask an even stranger question... does anyone else here use 24 hour time? Am I the only one who finds it easier to use than 12 hour AM/PM time? There are 24 hours in a day, not 12. Why can't we all switch over to 24 hour time?
