Dahon K3 Plus KAA693 16" wheels 9 speed disc brake
I was looking at the K3 on Google and found the K3 plus KAA693, which is a 16" version with disc brake and 9 speed freehub.
Around $550. Looks really nice. Only 10kg.

- One thing I would have preferred is more spokes. It looks like 24/20
- There is a threaded hole on the rear for I guess mudguard, which probably could fit a rear rack, but you'd have to double the mudguard stay and rear rack on the same hole. There is a center hole between the seatstays for the mudguard bolt, which I guess you could add a bracket adapter to attach the rear rack top stays.
- No truss luggage mount on the head tube
- Seems they folded the handlebar stem to the outside this time. The 14" version has it folding to the inside.
- Comes with 24mm integrated spindle crank.
- You could probably swap the cassette to 10 speed 11-42T with Shimano Zee RD. You could fit a MTB 11 speed cassette, but I don't know if there are 11 speed RDs with cages short enough to clear the ground with 16" wheels.

What's the longest RD cage you can fit on 16" wheels? I don't supposed a normal GS cage would clear the ground? Id be interested in making a double, but there probably isn't ground clearance to make a longer cage work.
The Shimano Zee RD is supposed to be for 11-36T, meaning 25T chain wrap capacity, but there are threads saying that it works on 42T max cog on a fixed frame, as the smaller specs are meant to include rear suspension frames. So if you can use 11-42T, that would be a 31T chain wrap capacity.

I guess there is no carrying a bag on the front for this Dahon. It does look spiffy! I would not mind taking it for a spin.

it would make sense with the 9 sprockets cogset ...

I've been riding the K3+ here in Singapore for almost 3 months and have clocked easily 1000km so far, it is a very good urban commuting bike due to the small 16" 305 wheel and a good crankset size of 55T. I change it to 58T for easier longer distance cycling.
Here is a photo comparing it with a BrompNOT (It's a 3Sixty) : ibb.co/p05LL1r (Pls add "https ://" in front)
As you can see, K3+ is longer by the width from the handle grip on the right, so that's a 3" extra. K3+ is also wider due to the outwards folding of the handlebar. Overall it is not as compact as Brompton (or the replicas) but it is negligible. The weight of 9.x KG makes the ride very agile for crowded urban areas or around pedestrian walkways. When you cannot ride over, just pick it up and carry it.

Any USA folks who have purchased from overseas....how does customs work? When its held and you have to pay the customs fee, is it over the phone or email, or a U.S. customs website, thanks for the help.

A certain website of a fellow who might have something to do with the distribution of Dahons in the USA (or he might not) but I don't want to mention by name so I don't get banned from this forum for life perhaps has the K3+ (and do note the K3+ model is quite different from the non + model) offered at the stunning price of $1499USD. I like Dahons and I like the K3/K3+, but !

Out of curiosity, I asked Dahon the other day about when the K3 PLUS would be available over here: "At present we do not have the K3 plus available in the European market, if you like, please contact our Germany distributor BBF to buy other models instead."

When I bought our Dahons in China, there were number of quality issues there that would not have been tolerated in the US market. I do not regret the purchases, but keep in mind that quality controls can be different for different markets, under the same brand name.

My goodness , do you know how cheap k3 plus is in the China / Asian Market.. Goodness, the price that Dahon US is selling at least 50% more for what they sold in Asia.. Goodness, I would rather get one of your Dahon 20" sia.. It is so damn Cheap.. Do you know how painful for me to Convert my Dahon MuSl D9 , 16 inch 305 wheel to a 349 wheel just because I wanted a bigger wheel and the best part is , the Western Market for 20" are dirt cheap.. What the fish....

Might as well -- or even better, I'd say -- just buy a FnHon frameset and build the bike yourself, if you have access to the Asian market. For the same money, perhaps even less, you'll end up with a bike with much better components and with the exact parts want. 100/135mm OLD on these quality FnHon Zephyr disc framesets that sell for under $150 (handlepost included).
Or a Litepro Eno disc frameset which sell for under $120 (handlepost included). 100/135mm OLD too.
Something like this FnHon Gust 16" can be built with much better parts and components than a Dahon K3 Plus for under $600.
As I've said before, these complete Dahon bikes have long become uncompetitive in the face of all manner (steel or aluminium alloy, rim or disc brake) of good, affordable Litepro and FnHon framesets. And you need not build them yourself. Tell a shop what your want and they'll build it for you.

Here, there are frames (e.g. Fnhon Freedom, Tornado Mini) made for 14" wheels that people build with 16" wheels (305) with the limitation of max tire width of no more than 16x1.50, as narrow as 16x1.35 in some cases. I don't suppose Dahon designed two different frames for the two models. Does the K3 Plus suffer from that 305 tire limitation? Having ridden 305ers for a few years across a gamut of terrains, I wouldn't want to ride one with tires narrower than 47-305 (1.85"), and my 305 daily driver today carries Schwalbe Big Apple 50-305 (2.0") boots with plenty of clearance still.
Unlike the K3, a FnHon Gust 16", for example, will take a 16x2.125" (57-305) tire and still have plenty of clearance. In fact it'll take up to 37-349.
I haven't yet figured out why folks build these bikes on frames designed for 14" wheels with 16" wheels, riddled with severe limitations on tire size when for the same money they can build (or buy a complete) a bike that takes all sizes of 305 and 349 wheels and tires. Ditto for the Dahon K3 Plus.

I spend a couple of weeks in Osaka earlier this year, and it served to further strengthen my perspective that that there are only two types of people and countries on this planet. There's Japan and the Japanese, and then there's the rest of us. For the finely manicured and supremely well maintained infrastructure, fantastic urbanism and the very unique conditions and prevailing norms of Japan, sure small wheels that max out at 40-305 might make sense. For the rest of the world, the rough-and-tumble real world, not so much. We could only wish the rest of the world were more like Japan.
