Maybe he discounted it because there's some rust on it.

531 frame modernized with brifters. Is the price too high for an unoriginal build? Still worth a look.

I wonder if it will sell at ANY price. I'm sure it's indeed rare, but that isn't because collectors have found all the others.

Not at all - in my opinion - but I am somewhat skeptical of the Reynolds 531 claim. I mean yes, the decal is there, but that's easy enough to purchase separately and attach, no?

Is there any way to corroborate the claim?

It's not much to look at, but I've always found this beater with its Reynolds (531?) tubing, chrome Nervex lugs, and Campagnolo crankset pretty interesting. It's been available for awhile, so maybe offer a crisp hundred and go from there?

56cm Tour de Suisse Vintage Road bike
With the stamped dropouts, it's similar to a super course with 531 main tubes. It's probably a fine rider. There was another one in orange that came up a month or so ago that was 531 tubes, stays, and fork. It was about the same size and price.

This is a Peugeot PRN-10. Its 531 main tubes, the rest hi-ten. RX100 sucks.

Too high? Depends on the quality of the build. RSX and RX100 may not have the cache of 105 or 600 (or the same number of gears), but I would like to know by which criteria "they sucked." Heavier, yes, but functioned well, and the brifters even shared many of the same parts with 105. Design principles were the same, just a bit heavier and not as many gears (ie less complicated). Low cost doesn't mean "suck" by default. Cost? The brifters alone could fetch over $100 if in good shape. What's a PRN10 frame going for these days, $100-ish on eBay? I doubt the seller will get $325, but that price seems set to negotiate down to $300 or so.

I love rx100. Better than any thumb button shimano, certainly.

Campagranola crankset? I could be wrong but isn't that Sugino crown?
