This machine ticks every box:
bulge-formed head
one-piece chainset
five-piece steel hubs
stem shifters
crimped ends
heavy rust
unserviceable pedals
extension brake levers
Enjoy those wingnuts!

Went to a bike swap, and actually made a swap, lol. I gave a friend of mine a 600 FD, and he trued a couple of wheels for a guy that handed me this. Been wanting one of these forever, even though I am not much into bikes anymore really. I will take the long cage Cyclone off of my 84 Trek 520, and install this cage on it. I have MORE than enough Suntour jockey wheels around to pull off the frankenstein project.,,,,BD
Anyone know what kind of rear gears these will handle?

Frame, fork, stem with no front plate, broken derailleur hanger. On its way to the dumpster.
I'm a commuter guy. What am I going to do with a full suspension frame?
Fix it up. That is what I always do.
Sorry I don't think I took any before pics. Only after pics.
What is a Super V 900 anyway? What do you do with it?
Have fun, that's what.

This is a late reporting of a catch of the day - I acquired this '85 Centurion Signet from my favorite scrap yard for a princely $10. Initially I didn't want to fool with it - basic steel frame, stamped dropouts, turkey levers, stem shifters, steel bolt-on wheels, etc. - but I figured I would go ahead and get it and maintain goodwill with Joey at the yard, so I forked over the green and took it home. I have no as-found photo, but I can tell you it was covered with grey greasy funky dirt and who knows what else, with rotting foam bar covers and a rusty-steel-rimmed taco for a rear wheel. I threw on an orphan 27-in Sunshine/Araya wheel I had under the workbench, wrapped the bars with some recycled black tape that I've had on at least two other bikes and dropped it off at the LBS on consignment, figuring I would get $50 out of the deal, easy.
No dice. The market for used generic road bikes around here is dead, dead, dead. Friday I said "uncle" and retrieved it. I inflated the tires, added a bottle cage, stripped off the bits I didn't need and fitted the Eggbeaters. Turns out this is the perfect bike for riding around the track while my son gets his cross-country training miles in, and it even works for slow and gentle trail riding. Now I find myself thinking about those Kenda 1 3/8 tires on sale ...

Ever buy a bike for the new tires and end up with another project? New Conti's for $20, but came with the GT attached...

This is an odd one. Fuji Folder marketed as a Marlboro mountain bike. Needed everything tightened and adjusted. Upgraded the triple front to Shimano STX cranks and BB, and replaced the seat. It's 4130 Chromo tubing made in Taiwan. Not as nice as it looks in the photo to be honest, but it rides surprisingly nice and just feels like the vintage rigid mtb that it is.
It does fold up pretty well, but I might just add a rack, fenders, panniers and make it a store runner. It has enough braze-ons that I could fit fenders and racks. The funny thing is, the folks I bought it from had no idea it was a folding bike!

Yep, had to smoke 2000 miles before you could get it.. only 8000 cigs. So, makes sense that these are still around in good shape.

At today's prices that would cost about 2500 dollars! Damn, it's not that nice, haha. I'll most likely put a nice sticker over the Marlboro "head-badge"

Yep. Probably didn't get much use. After smoking all those cigarettes to get the bike they got winded just getting on it. A friend of mine bought one at a garage sale years ago for about $20. It was like new when he got it. He loved it, and rode it alot before selling it for $150. He always kept it in his car. Pretty handy thing to have.

That's a Suntour Lapree Mr. Dude. The triple wheel derailer. They were fighting with Shimano, at the time those came out.

A good run of late: a yard sale coughed up an 89 GF HK II and a Raleigh M30, plus an extra wheel and some tubes for $2. Brake lever transplant on the Raleigh was a quick flip for $40, which landed the '91 Paramount PDG series 3 Tri on local ads. Schwinn Fair Lady for $25, local ads, tomorrow morning I'll get the '84 Diamondback ascent, free - local ads.

while looking for something else I found this rough Nishiki Cascade with stuck seatpost (1984 vintage? with biplane fork) for $11

I picked it up solely for the bullmoose bars and suntour thumbies thinking I could part out the rest

Of course now I am thinking of rebuilding it as a bombproof commuter, I really need to stop looking at craiglist.

I picked this bike up about two weeks ago and just finished a complete overhaul. It is a 1981 Bianchi Special and is in excellent condition. Set me back $25 and I didn't have to buy anything for it. It is way too small for me so I will be passing it on.

A Starfire... yeah, I would have paid that princely sum, just for the name. STARFIRE! (but, I have a soft spot for ignored, entry level, and forgotten.)

Found and purchased this loaded Bianchi road bike from a yard sale this rainy morning for $10. Not pictured, as I removed them to take into the dry; leather straps for the pedals, vintage red Cannondale saddle bad (empty), and a Cateye brand cycle computer and cable harness.
As noted in one of the pictures, the frame took a minor dent from my trunk lid on the way home with it (Arrrrgh!). Otherwise the Bianchi labeling is in a sorry state and the tires are shot. Seems to be my size, but due to rain, and other things I've had going on today I have not measured the frame, guessing it is a 22" though.

Two more pics that for some reason wouldn't take in my previous post.
