sometimes.... if there is beer in the middle of my ride... life is too short not to do things like this. I don't recommend a beer before the big climb, otherwise no biggie.

It's interesting, someone just posted a similar question in "General Cycling Discussion" and it turned into a big messy fight-esq discussion.

Anyway, beer has the perverse property of making me feel hotter and sweat more on hot days. I'm sure that's actually a positive, but it takes about an hour for things to go back to normal. OTOH - that doesn't stop me if I'm in the mood for a cold one.
BTW- about half a century back when I was younger and dumber, I found riding was easier than walking when I've had too many. I guess being able to only fall sideways helped.

It's been a long time (since back in college) when I had beer and got on a bike. Back then cycling was our main mode of transportation. These days when I get on the bike, it's all business.

having more than two at a sitting while on a ride tends to rob me of any ambition i had of going harder/farther on 50+ mile rides.
i do have a couple of staple 40-70 mile rides incorporating a brewery/tasting room/gastropub as the lunch destination/turnaround point and have never had a problem making it home.
in the craft beer capital of america-san diego-my problem arises when i'm not "feeling it" on a ride and instead of fighting through it,
i tend to bail out on the ride and hit any one of 50+ destos for a fantastic beer or two.
funny how my best rides are far from (20+ miles) any quality craft beer influence.

If stopping off for happy hour after work counts, then I have a beer mid-ride most weekdays during riding season.

I know you're being sarcastic, but I'm not. I absolutely love most of the beers New Belgium make, and they fit your description to a T. A Ranger IPA mid-ride would make me feel a little weird for a few miles, but it's worth it.
Or this-
It checks all the boxes. Microbrew? Check, sorta. IPA? Check. "Sesion" IPA? Double check. Bike in brand logo? Check. Pedal couch on label? Check.
Hipster bike 'n beer heaven, and I love it.

Just saw one yesterday. Looked like crap. I think it's owned by someone who works for a restaurant because I used to see it outside a certain cafe all the time. Now it has started showing up near my office across from a building with a food court and a high-end steak place. You can miss it because the bars are tilted way forward.
