Life got crazy for a few days...if anyone cares, some good news about a couple of the shelter dogs from last week.
A friend of a friend that works for a pug rescue saw the photos of the pug and went and picked him and another pug up this past weekend. That's pretty cool!

Scored some "deep vee" 30mm wheels for my folder.
May do a "suicide hub" fixed gear conversion on it.
But mostly I just want to get rid of the coaster hub.

That feeling when you get that chain tension juuuuuuuust right.
Today I rode my bike, got paid, and made tips. Froze my ass off, snot dripping out of both nostrils, watery eyes, and smiled every second the pedals turned.

Spend all day safety checking and correcting mistakes on the bike to be given away during Christmas. It's for a local community outreach program. Bikes were bottom of the barrel Walnott ones, the misery!
Got home thirty minutes ago. Lots more to finish tomorrow. Sanity restored by the fixed ride home via the long way in warm night air.

Today I feel like sharing with you guys that I spent 3 weeks locked up in an immigration detention facility while the DHS attempted to deport me. Pretty much like a prison. Scary ****. Was finally released last Wednesday. Gawd bless 'Mericuh!

Oh mostly a waste of tax payer's money. I had a minor misdemeanor from 2001 that customs and border patrol felt was a deportable offense even though it was dismissed and occurred prior to immigration laws changing. I've traveled internationally several times and have always had to explain this history of mine to the CBP but was never ever denied re-entry, until my most recent trip to Toronto. Without going into too much detail, my lawyer and the ICE trial lawyer came to an agreement that I didn't belong in detention and shouldn't be removed from the US(duh!) and struck a deal to grant a waiver for the cancellation of my removal. Last year the supreme court decided that all lawyers are to be required to inform their clients, who are immigrants or green card holders(me), about how their case may affect their immigration status. I wasn't afforded that in 2001 and was fortunate enough for the DoJ to have sympathy on my situation. A rare cancellation of removal. Whew. Darkest 3 weeks of my life.
