Is there an age range available for that chart? I find it difficult to believe that there are almost as many people who regularly play American football as there are who regularly ride a bicycle? In fact, I know very few people over the age of 21 that regularly play American football. It's not like there are as many flag football teams as there are softball teams. I mean, does tossing a football 15-20 feet to another person once or twice a year count as 'regular participation'?

I'm sure those things do require strong skills. I might could've worked it better. No slight meant to cycling.
Just saying that IMO it would take a person much longer to become an above-average recreational tennis player than to become an above-average recreational cyclist (group or distance rider).
I don't mean this as a criticism toward cycling. It's a great sport for the reasons I'm stating. I can be 56 years old and through hard work I can already ride with some riders that I think are really good and they aren't bored with me. For a tennis player just starting in his 50s, it would be much harder to be in the company of those better players.

Now try racing, any technical trails, freestyle tricks, etc, that where the more skills you have the better....

Might this explain some of the harsh reaction to what others have called an innocuous comment? That some are reading into the post what isn't actually there?
I don't doubt that. I agree that ''the more skills you have the better'' for certain sports and athletic activities.
