Interesting. I bet he'd take $300 in cash. It's tempting, but I really do not need to haul home another bike.

Got this guy for $240, not a bad deal at all, like new gatorskin tires, brooks b17 saddle and the frame cleaned up quite well.

2011, in an uncommon color way, and other than the saddle and bars, all stock.
A few signs of use, but not a bad thing on a steel frame.

All I did was wash it, clean the chain, and put on new bar tape.

"Not bad" is practically humble brag territory. I had a Brooks B17 for way too long. I'd swap that out, along with the straps. Enjoy that bike!

I actually bought it to just flip, but I may end up keeping it and selling my state black label.

I tossed the straps and pedals on there, came with the stock el-cheapo plastic pedals until I can pick up another set of clipless pedals

I like the saddle, its not bad ( espc since all my other saddles are un cushioned full carbon or plastic saddles.

I'll probably swap the wheels out with some alex wheels i have on one the state, put some bull horns on it, ( don't like the pista style track drops ) and use it as my city bike, i've been wanting a steel framed bike that i could lock up around town and not worry about my thin alum framed bikes getting scratched and dented to hell on.

Full chrome under the paint, means the more nicks in the paint the better it looks.

Just picked up this Chrome Victor bag for $50, nearly new. Hardly looks used at all. The camo on mine is a little darker. Perfect for all I carry on most rides, which is phone, wallet, snack, lock, keys, a few tools.

Now do you wear that around the waist or slung across your back? I have a Checkov I think it is called, similar to that, no dedicated phone pouch I don't think. Supposed to work both ways but neither way is comfortable.

People who have them love them. They have strange geometry and are kinda heavy. The V1s were actually made in the US but the later ones are made oversees so I'm not really sure why. In any case they aren't worth $3000. You can get a brand new V3 which has the V1 fork and a seatpost for $1400.

But I do kinda want a V1 with the original forks in orange.

I think either way, I wear it over the shoulder, but I think I'm going to get a camera bag strap pad for it. Other than that, I like it a lot. Rode like 18 miles with it on last night.

It was designed to be worn like one of their messenger bags.

Just got ANOTHER Chrome bag off Craigslist, a Citizen this time. Guy had it made with custom colors at the hub here in Portland, tan with blue stitching and blue waterproof interior,
with a blue lower section on the front, looks like it's almost never been worn. Traded it straight up for a Leatherman Skeletool.

Always the skeptic...I find the Ultegra Left Side Drive drivetrain rather dubious. I have been out of the loop for a while, tell me if I have missed the mainstream adoption of left side drive...

Cut a couple hundred off the asking price and put the damn cranks on the right way and it's not a bad bike. I likes the shineys.

On a sunny day, that thing would be causing 10-car pile ups and knocking planes out of the sky. Looks like a god damn solar flare.

Dumb question of the day. Can this be done? I would assume so but you know what happens when you start assuming stuff.

I am guessing that the stuff was just installed backwards... I really don't think Shimano makes left side drive specific Ultegra cranks, nor do I believe the seller/builder really went out of their way to source left side drive specific hub, cog and lockring. They just assembled it all backwards to be cool IMHO.

You don't need a special left side drive hub; Sheldon Brown, after all, built himself a left-side drive bike, using a Sturmey-Archer hub with a splined cog. I suspect a standard track hub, with a snugly tightened lockring would work fine as long as you avoided skid-stops. No worse than a so-called "suicide hub." Of course, the bike in the ad looks to be brakeless. The crank might be a problem, though, unless you used a tandem crank with the left hand pedal thread on the drive side. Otherwise, precession will tend to loosen the pedals as you ride.
