Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I tried out a beard several times, mostly in the 70s and 80s, never kept one for very long. Once significant whiteage started showing up that was the end of that. You couldn't pay me to sport an all white beard now.

Must be the beard, but your face looks much taller here than in your other pics.

Actually, I live in Paradise. One of these days we'll get two days in a row without rain. And, eventually, four months without rain, and without untoward heat
But that day is not this day.

The manufacturers tell you to do it. I think the studs do not always pop into the recess at the bottom of the hole. The studs have a head on them just like a nail. The lip on the nail needs to be wiggled into that part of the hole, I think. They might have some special tool to push them in. It's probably not 100% successful. If you want to replace all the studs in a worn Nokian high stud count tire, don't bother. The studs barely shrink a few thousands on most of them.
The tire lets the studs go in farther. I measured 10 studs each on a couple of tires, and started to re stud a tire. with a stud count close to three hundred on one tire, I stopped and just bought more tires.
The pointed studs on the Schwalbe ice spiker pro tires wear quickly, he point becomes s mushroom head. The Nokian studs start out as a cylinder and the edge wears, but the studs don't get measurably shorter. Only a few thousands by my dial caliper. Inover a couple of decades I did not loose any Nokian studs, but lost a few Schwalbe studs.

On this cold rainy morning I'm craving a second cup of instant. But that would preclude an afternoon cup, as I:m limiting myself to two for the day. What to do?
I no longer either crave or desire a brewed cup.
I suppose I could get to work. That would end the craving. Possibly

Kudos. I started going grey in my 30's. Now at 55 I am about 95% grey.

My sister's kid is in their mid-20's and already going grey. Must be in the DNA.

It's a mens health awareness thing. Men are supposed to grow a moustache "Mo" in oz slang, for the month of November. Details in Wikipedia.

I was going to mention these, but they are a little chunky... then again, it's not like he's got much by way of hills to contend with.

Doc wants me to come in to check my COPD, etc. Had to go for a blood draw Friday and there was a Karen there at the lab. They keep the door locked and you wait outside until they come to get you and it's appointment only. She (the Karen) was in line behind me and when she heard she couldn't be seen because she didn't have an appointment she went ballistic
. When a patient came out she stood against the door so it couldn't be closed and proclaimed she wasn't leaving until she got her blood draw.

She demanded to see the manager and was informed there was no manager, just a phlebotomist, so she demanded to see the phlebotomist. She was ranting about stupid stuff when I was taken inside and another woman in line was encouraging her. I tried to ignore the whole situation and didn't speak up, even though she was directing some of her crap in my direction as if I was going to back her up.

Hmmm. I always thought it was Mowvember, cuz you grow what you can then mow it on the last day of the month.

I prefer eating at 4:30 in the summer here. Since you have to wake up super early in order to do anything outdoors, you're ready for lunch by 10:30 and dinner by 4:30
