Is it too late to join? Started riding track this year and had it measured three times over the last three months where I gradually got faster. Last time was 13.35s and I feel like I have room for improvement. Sheet says 12.85s, challenge accepted!
Was running 86" and topped at 137rpm, will try 92" tomorrow and see whether I can keep the rpms up.

I did a practice sprint tourney today, and in my 2nd flying 200 (the first was kind of a wash), I hit 12.08 seconds. My goal as per this thread was 12.13; my actual goal is 12.0. I'm confident that if I have another session or two this year, I'll hit my goal.
Since I'm an enduro this progress is pretty encouraging.
11.8 would be even better. If I end the season with a 12.0, this spreadsheet says that 11.7 would be my goal for next season...

Is that outdoors I assume punk? Thats pretty fast around here, I think the only guys around here dipping into 11s are the pure sprinters. Although perhaps our track is not as fast as I think it is, track record is only 11:40 and the fastest times Ive seen are high 11s (apparently my age group record is only 11.90).

thanks! I'm *definitely* not a pure sprinter.
yup, outdoor stripwood 250m track just outside of Minneapolis. It's special.

Outdoor concrete track: 11.82 fastest 200, fastest in competition 12:06. Still learning the trade; best lines, best gearing. I've done sub 12s with as low as 94 nominal but with larger 103.8 inch gears I have been hitting sub 12 consistently. Jeez that'll give a 11.55 to aim at.

I think I am down to a mid 12.8 last time I was out. Still aiming for 12.5 at our new track this winter.
Season isn't over here, in fact it doesn't start until December But the outside tracks seem to be winding down

Managed a 12.64 on the weekend to finish the outdoor season off. New goal by end of winter training is 11.9 at the new track (indoor 250).

Im counting this as 2014 but Ive finally found 11.x at the new track. Informal timing (speed sensor) but hitting 62kmh and averaging right around 60, Im calling it an 11.9 anyway At the very least hitting low 12 in training in small gears (mid 80)

Do I really lose that much speed? I have no idea where I was on the track but just going off the 1s data points for 12s, it averages 60.4kmh, with a peak of 62.5. I don't drop below 60 until I see the power drop off, which is when I would have crossed the line. Perhaps the smaller gear kept my jump low/speed high?
In any case, on race wheels and fresh legs (this was day 4 on the track on training gear), Im calling it an 11.9
edit
to add, my jump is pretty sad, like 1100w (much lower than I seem to hit on a geared bike, but might be the PM difference). But I hold that power nearly the entire 20s, like I average close to 1000w through it. So maybe im jumping too late? Not hard enough?

I think the peak values are about 5kph higher than the average.

Chasing after 1/10 of a second is sort of useless with a device that records in 10/10 of a second I like the camera idea, I might try and set something up that sees the first 100m split.
For the jealous types, I was following Harnett out for a few of them today. The guy still holds on to that speed!
