Today I did 45 miles, 2500'. Felt like I still had a little juice after the climb that's been kicking my ass the past couple weeks so I took the longer and hillier route home.

E30's rule!
I've been pinching my pennies for a e30 m3
At the age they are now, it definitely helps to be handy with cars to keep a project from getting out of hand and budget.

Today I was pumping up the front tire on the fixed gear, and the tube gave up the ghost. Not sure what happened but air was leaking out of the valve. Pumped up the tires on the geared road bike and took that instead. Felt absolutely wonderful.

Was it an old tube? I've had a few where the valves just crapped out after a while.

Today I went to my first punk show(2nd concert ever) and it was a blast. Didn't get to stay for the whole headliner's set which was kind of a bummer, but the opening bands were amazing. Especially when the first band(Raukous) covered a Rudimentary Peni song.
I love everything about these shows; cheap tickets, cool affordable merch(got a little sumthin from each band), and the venue is just the right size. Not to mention all the people you encounter at these shows. I saw a lesbian couple(not that it matters) trying to shelter their daughter (age 8 or so) from a raging circle pit behind them. She seemed to be having a good time however. And then there's this big ol' bearded bald dude casually walking through the pit tossing mfs like sacks of potatoes. Can't wait for the next one.

Went for a run because I didn't have time for a ride today. I was pretty amazed at how much my fitness has improved in the past few months. The last time I ran, I had to alternate walking and running and couldn't run for more than 5 minutes at a time. Today I did 30 minutes at about a 10 minute mile pace and never even thought about stopping to walk.
Fresh Garbage
running is great when you can go for a long time without stopping. getting to that level though...

Cracked my Giant Defy frame after 4 days of using it. No pictures, at the shop pending follow up from Giant.

Today I was too late for everything but the Mexican restaurant down the street. Mission Accomplished, slow ride home.

Definitely. The shop was cool enough to offer me a bike to use in the interim, though I didn't need it.
The problem is that I don't even know. I was riding and the bike felt a little flexy so i got off and noticed the crack on the top tube. It is about 2-3 inches from where it meets the seat tube. Its odd that it not at a joint.

I had such a fun ride on Saturday AM -- Only did about 50 miles but it was the most amount of fun i've had on a bike in a while. Rode on paths, gravel and even went on a MTB bike park all on my converted 650b bike. I felt like the stoned surfer guy trying to explain how my ride was to the Mrs -- it was quite funny.

Weird. Probably just a defective piece of tubing. Does it run parallel with the tube or around the circumference?
