Not wolverine, but that's a good idea, haha.

I rocked the Toupee for a while, but it wasn't workin for me. I've got the Selle Italia SLR now, and thats been better for me.

Saddles are one of those things that vary so much from person to person.

Enzo Gucci, you need to come back to MR dot com and post about yourself in the third person. That was funny.

Enzo Gucci, Chet Bearclaw, Dick Neptune and Doyle Diamond are all planning on vising you MR guys sometime soon.

In fact, Team Bearclaw and Enzo Gucci see one of your crew's finest riders at 'Cross races almost every weekend. I won't use names, but he has one of the best moustaches known to mankind.

I'm new to this forum... I'm in the LA area.. looking to join up with some slow riders who can set a pace I can follow without cardiac arrest. I normally ride around the Rose Bowl area, been up Angeles Crest once, glendale/pasadena/arcadia...

here are some pics of my road bikes..

Kestrel 200sci with a great big mishmash of components - currently in pieces as I'm doing some upgrading..

and a Kestrel Talon SL which I'm in the process of building..

Welcome, Larry! Nice bikes. There are all different levels on here to be truthful. On my next RB/St. Katherine's ride, I'd encourage you to come. I may do one in December.

This is my ride: I started with a NOS 1994 frame and built it up with the Campy Athena gruppo the last year it was available (1999). Had to change the left crankarm with a Daytona one when the original cracked (no, it didn't crack because of my extra-ordinarily high amount of generated power). The latest additions are (1) the NiteRider Select headlight from PBS; (2) the Thompson seatpost; and (3) the San Marco Regal Titanio saddle.
I am very, very proud of it.

Hi Everybody!

Another new Chris here (seems like there were a few already on the last couple of pages) and I'm just getting back into the swing of things after spending the last ten years obsessing about automobiles. Unfortunately I spent more time sitting in traffic than actually enjoying that hobby...

I currently live next to the Redondo Pier and work in Marina Del Rey so I'm pretty sure you guys can guess where this is going- it's just sad that it took me 6 months to put it together!

Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself... Eugene here. I'm pretty much a beginner with a just a week of commuting under my belt. I've got 2 rides: a Dahon Mu SL and a KHS Moca/BionX PL350 combo. Via car/train/bike I make my daily commute from Altadena to Culver City. I wanted to improve my health, make use of mass transit, save Mother Earth, and have fun while I'm at it.

In my spare time I enjoy fishing, kayaking, playing guitar, and bowling, but most of the time I'm just trying to keep up with my 3-year old girl.

See ya on the road!

No doubt, I've already spent way too much on the bikes and accessories... I'll try to post some pics soon.

Welcome, Darkstar. Do check out the SDBC Saturday group ride (www.sdbc.org) if you're in the area. They have a few different levels of Sat morning rides.

Hi Larry, I'm also looking to join up with some slow riders in the Pasadena area.
I want to ride every Saturday morning (10 am) at the Rose Bowl. If anyone is interested,
please let me know. Thanks, Ben.

Welcome, Ben! I wish I knew of a good group in that area. Of course, if you go over there, you may just meet the riders out doing laps.

Relative noob here~ My name is Brian, and I live in Fallbrook (N. San Diego County). I took up Mt Biking again in May of 07. I was at a very unhealthy 265 lbs. With Mt. Biking and doing intervals I started dropping the lbs. I soon realized I wanted to be able to ride from my house, and although I abhorred the idea of me being a road weenie I bought a used bike on Craigslist. It was a decent bike, and during a business trip in Oxnard I realized I really love my road bike. I built up to a 100 miles a week, and then started jonesing for a new bike. I bought a 06 Felt F4C last month and am getting that dialed in... I will be riding cyclevets on a semi regular basis once I get comfortable on my new ride... Would love to ride local in N County with some folks. I have set some modest goals for 08, my first century... 200 miles in a week, and getting down to 185 (currently 220).

Welcome, Brian! Good job on losing down to your current weight! I'm back on my diet and I know it isn't easy. You're well on your way, and you will do your first century this year. You might want to consider Palm Springs as a large contingent from here will likely go and it is more fun in a group. Also, it is relatively easy as far as riding 100 miles goes. Congrats on your new bike.

Thanks! When is the Palm Springs ride? I am considering the Tour De Cure in N County.. Its in mid April, but I am not sure if I want to do the 50 or 100 mile version.. I am hoping to find a group to ride with for that event.. Nevermind, googled the Palm Springs ride.. February is right around the corner.. not sure I am ready for a century.. I have never been over 35 miles... I could do the 55 miler though..
