Trek 8000 1998? Poor thing......it was covered in cobwebs, my pretty Serfas seat is trashed from storage in a tool shed and, Sunday, when I tried to take off on it for a quick spin the chain snapped! Hubby is going to clean it up for me and maybe I can sell it to someone. I hit a few bike shops the next day and bought a Raleigh Venture 3 "old lady bike" with pass thru. Fatter tires, 21-speed. I will be more comfortable on this bike. One reason I no longer rode my Trek was that age has asked me to be more cautious riding. Trying to swing my leg over the higher bar has become daunting to me. Damn time Passage! Casual rider here...btw.

Totally. I would not pick those if mud was regularly on the menu. They do well with the mix of pavement and hardpack that is typical for me. I don't hit the local trails after rain, but sometimes mud happens. My comment was more sizing tires to a frame/fork in general versus any particular tire model - I should have made that clear. I'm looking to try something else that's pavement friendly once I wear these out, though that'll probably take a while given my riding mix and the way these tires are built.

I bet you'll like them.
Rocks, mud and sand are a big thumbs up with these.
My son picked up a set off our local CL and tossed them on his MB-1.
Very tight fit.......
BTW Run the lowest pressure you dare with those rims.

Love the bullmoose!
The fenders have been removed. Living in San Diego, they're really more fashion than anything even for a commuter.

1989 Giant Iguana
This is my 1989 Iguana. I found it on the side of the road on my way home from work. The previous owner taped a sign on it saying "if you want to buy this bike, take it with you and mail me $10."

Two part...wife's gravel/off road bike and also lender for guests. It's replacing the Rocky Mountain, which is going to a co-worker so we can ride together around work.

She must love the pink as well.
Matching the Panasonic.
FWIW Consider the Compass Rat Trap Pass tires if they fit.
It will be the smoothest ride she's ever had.
I'm using the Snoqualmie Pass on my Bilenky and I'm sold.

1988 StumpJumper Red White & Blue 4th of July Edition ;)
Bought this new, off the show room floor.
It has been ridden a thousand miles +++, cleaned it up for pics.
I never figured out what the black Shark's Tooth (2nd row, 1st pic behind the chain wheel) was all about. Hype?, I guess.

1993 Cannondale Super V 1000; bought it 2nd hand from the LBS in 1997. Been riding it ever since. It's had 2 sets of updates. The first right when I bought it; and recently last summer. The Headshok blew out and collapsed. It is frozen in the down position, so I actually rode it that way for a short time until I 'upgraded' to the RST Gila fork (it's tough to find a decent 75mm travel fork). Also got disks, new wheels/tires, and handle bars.

I'll take a look; I'm a fan of these because they just don't flat. They stand up to anything philly streets can throw, though the ride is nothing to write home about.

Good point!
Durability has to be considered, especially if you have to deal with craptastic streets. It isn't really quite the same here, although we apparently don't have money for repaving in the St.Paul city budget.
Sure love the big, fat tires though. Especially nice when cruising down country roads.

This bike is beautiful. The shark's tooth is really just the chainstay protector although I don't see one on your chainstay. I have one on my 1987 stumpjumper comp.
