Had you gotten it out earlier, I probably wouldn't have been home to receive it. I'll get my catcher's mitt on.

I am sure it is too far for most, but is anyone here attending the Brazen Dropouts bike swap in Madison this coming Saturday?

The box is in the mail on the way to @gugie now. He'll get it by Friday.
It looked pretty normal when unopened.
And the steel inner box has a familiar look.
When I lifted the lid, there still weren't many clues about the contents. This envelope contained paper goods.
Aha, here is bike crap in plastic bags.
Here is what I removed before repacking.
I added some items which I hope a successor reveals in later pictures.

Thunk.
I've lost track. 4th time? 6th? By now even my wife knows what it is - "There's a box of crap just inside the entry. No way I'm gonna pick it up and bring it in any further."
As received.
Opened
I'm telling ya, the metal box is brilliant, just damn brilliant! It's lasted a few years now, only a few dents to show for the trouble.
The reveal - paper goods
Looks like decals and such are now an official part of the BOC, and for the third time in a row, they're all organized on top.
The reveal - hardware
I think I know what I'm taking, but I'll sleep on it. It was a long week at work, one shouldn't rush into these types of decisions unless one is well rested.

The take.
Box is on it's way to @2cam16. Oddly enough, if moon and stars had aligned and gotten me the box a few weeks earlier, I could have gone down this hill during my recent very short tour de Bay Area and delivered it personally.

I was tempted to take the 25mm seatpost and use it with a shim, but that would have been dumb.

The original plan was to arrive in SFO early on Boxing Day, BART to Berkeley and meet up with my zero bike and a buddy of mine, then ride up to the top of Diablo. On the 27th I took BART into SF to meet up with another friend, we rode up to the top of Mt. Tam. Two peaks, two days. The trifecta would have been doing the Hamilton climb on day 3.

I know, I've taken on some pretty stupid projects. Maybe I'm getting a little smarter. But a couple of years ago, I made a seatpost shim out of a seatpost. It was crazy and even hazardous, the quantity of aluminum dust I kicked up, but it's still working now.
