Old saying: don't believe every thing you think.

Bedding in a fresh disc pad will take care of things .. as the pads move towards each other within the caliper..

likely undoing your effort some compounds squeak others may not.

stopping or quiet you may have to choose..

Because there are two types of rotor mounts, 6-bolt and centerlock. The rotor needs to match the mounting method although there are adapters to allow a 6-bolt rotor to mount on a centerlock hub.

Not weird at all. You want to buy the cheapest rotors, but expect expensive performance. You are cheap.... buy the cheapest.
