Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

My Masi CXR3. It's on the road much more than dirt, but handles both very well.

Just finished 650b'ing my Jamis Renegade Escapade! I switched it over to Easton 650b wheels with tubelessly installed Compass Switchback Hill tires and PBW fenders. Switched out some parts to suit me, gear range and fit-wise and so far it's working for me pretty well. I really like the way it turned out and it sure rolls smooth! This setup is basically what I've wanted for the last 3 or so years. I thought I'd have to go custom to fit 650bX50 tires and fenders, but this bike is 90%+ what I wanted for half the money.

I was a lot cleaner than the bike but also quite red in the face, I was overdressed by the end and didn't want to stop to peel down. I finished ahead of my friends so no one was around to get a pic of my ugly mug. It was a whole whack of fun though and I hope to do it again next year.

Still pretty clean at this point in the event.

It was a lot dirtier than it looks in the photo :-) Took quite a while to get in clean on Sunday, glad there wasn't any more rain than what we had on race day!

Raleigh RXM, unfortunately I didn't know about this bike until all the crazy sales were over and the only place left with a 54 was Amazon:

Straight out of the box with 33mm MSO tires and no pedals it was 22.5lb, doesn't seem too bad for a steel bike. With pedals, clips/straps, water bottle holders, and 38mm Gravelking (non-SK), it's pushing 24. I can definitely fit 40mm tires, maybe 42 (could go higher in the front).

It rides great, feels much better to me than the 2018 Diverge E5 Comp it's replacing -- that bike just never clicked for me. The Diverge was a hair under 22lb with the same tires, but in my second ride on the Raleigh today at lunch I set numerous Strava segment PRs and had my highest average speed of the year by a pretty significant margin. I think it's because it just felt so smooth.

I absolutely love it and only have two complaints: 1) the 46/36 and 11-28 gearing isn't going to cut it for me I don't think; the pipecleaners I call legs need easier gears. 2) It has rack and fender mounts in the rear but none in the front. Wouldn't anyone riding with a rear fender normally want a front one too?

But the bike looks amazing and rides beautifully. I hope to be riding this for the next 20+ years.

I picked up my first gravel bike ('06 Tricross) a couple of weeks ago - been sitting in the garage while I source parts. Today it's fully tuned up with upgrades. Time to hit the trails!

A bit late here but thanks! I was considering darkening the downtube decal but I'll need to trace it and get the vinyl cut for it.

That is such a cool bike. As I'm collecting bikes at the moment, definitely one to add to the n + 1 collection.
