Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Surgerized the kicker core. It's resting comfortably. I wasn't sure how it was going to go once I got in there. It really put up a fight. The small pulley needed heat to get it to move. And I really had to smote the axel a couple good ones to get it to start moving. The frigging bearings were metal shielded bearings not rubber sealed bearings. With all that sweat? What a crap design. I installed a pair of rubber sealed SKF bearings.
took about an hour. Then did a nice smooth, non rumbling hour long shake down ride.

With standard 18t ratchet, there would ne a lag between coasting and pedal engagement when you started pedaling. Feels like a dead space before the pedals engage. Higher tooth count reduces that dead space. Options are standard 18t, 36t and 54t. 36 t halves the dead space, and 54t halves it again.

Once it gets above 50 I will. Sunday actually if the forecast holds. Our weather's been absolutely skitso lately. I barbecued tonight in a sleet storm.
ast night was the meeting for the Thursday night ride. I had 3 beers and a long day so I was in bed by 8:30. At 1am I woke up freezing. Went to check the thermostat...blank screen. Batteries were corroded. I get it cleaned up and replace the batteries. 57 degrees in the house. Not good.
Come on spring!

Windy AF outside. While I was riding in the garage, a couple boards blew out of the fence on the East side of the yard. Mrs. GJ told me "there was a loud noise", but since we still have power, and internet, and windows intact, she figured it was probably something that could wait till tomorrow. That part of the yard is blocked off so the doggies can't poop there, anyhow. Plus we had a board blow out of the fence on that side where it separates the side yard from the front, which we didn't realize till our neighbor told us Rango had walked into their garage - his buddy Pepper lives there.

Funny thing - Rango has escaped our yard 3 times, and each time all he did was walk over two houses and try to get into Pepper's yard. Thank goodness for small favors.

Speaking of shaving babies hair. I got my hair cut today and went all in. Usually I do a 4 on top and 2 on the sides. This time, I went 3 on top 1 on the sides.

So on my search to set up my emonda exactly like my madone, the madone cockpit will not work with my emonda.

So, I stumbled on this:

Do you think I could talk CC down on the price? I would totally pay 600 or less.
