EDIT: Ah ok. Swisstop just likes to name things weirdly. Black Prince is their high modulation carbon compound. FlashPro refers to their standard Shimano style pads. Flash EVO is similar, but thinner for wide rims. RacePro is for Campy. I think I’m going to go for the FlashPro because that’s the only one available with brake shoes. Unless it’s too expensive.

Thanks. I am looking at the Onyx hubs which are only available at the NA warehouse which means the wheels will be machine built. Tempting to go with the DT240s from the Global warehouse saving a lot of $ and getting a hand built wheelset.

Did you ask LB if they have Onyx hubs at the global center? They might be willing to make an exception for a small upcharge. I was going to get Dura Ace hubs from them but their supplier ran out (since, I guess, Shimano doesn’t really make them anymore)

The DTs will be machine guns. They'll also take longer to get what with crossing an ocean. OTOH they too are nice hubs.

Yes. I emailed the China site and they can't do anything with price on the Onyx since they don't stock them and would have to have them shipped in from the North American warehouse. Whereas they stock the DT240s and get good pricing on them.

Yep. I really want the Onyx but the DT240s are so much less costly and they are great hubs from what everybody says. But if I amortize the additional cost of the Onyx over the (hopefully) many years I have the wheels I can kind of rationalize it to myself I know you love yours.

I've already been very happy with my DT240s.

Curious since I thought they included cycling stuff in the new tax. If they decide to start collecting it one could be screwed since it is collected by the US government after the item is imported. So you'd have to pay the tax or send the wheels back and good luck getting a refund. Since I really want the Onyx hubs anyway I might just bite the bullet and order from the N.A. warehouse. I don't believe we have an import tax with Canada yet.

I remember seeing that posted by someone so if I'm planning on doing a PayPal transaction. I think my CC company charges 3% international fee. Plus, I see on their website if you click on the coupon code to share it on Facebook you get can get a 3% discount for any item. Guess I'll be creating a FB account.

My guess, too low pressure, 20 psi and rock hit, then tire wrapped around rim.
This was training on wheels that were supposed to be for racing. I think he just caught a rock.
This stuff happens, more with him.
