It was nice day today for a short ride, happened to pass by this field and I also happen to have the American Flyers song blasting on my headphones. This is the movie that prompted me to buy a classic Steel bike with Down Tube Shifters.

That was an interesting movie .
It had its faults, but it had bikes in it.
I grew a mustache not long after this movie came out.
Already had a bike.

This bicycle by no means is anything special. I built this lil bugga up for my wife to cruise around on. Right now it has a mash up of parts but will eventually be full Shimano 105 1050 series

Hi,
this is my bike. It was a garbage found and should be a Winora Amateure. I Painted it and mounted new tyres, saddle and pedals. All Shimano gold arrow. After polishing the aluminium:

Hopefully I can take it with me when we move from Germany to Seattle.
Best regards, Wolf

My father's 1976 Paramount P10-9. It's a work in progress...

Thanks to everyone here who has helped me out... next steps probably ditch the pie plate so I can get 5th gear, find some gum or black hoods, polish up.

wow, awesome bikes everyone.
i saw this lejeune today, it won a "most classic bike" contest after a ride/event. cottered cranks, wingnuts, and a crusty lookin saddle. there were only like 4 people competing for the gift card anyway, including my '73 ron kitching fixed gear conversion, an 80s columbus serotta with fastback seat stays and dura-ace, and an 80s aluminum guerciotti just like this one

You should watch Flying Scotsman, then, makes American Flyers an emotional walk-in-the-park
