There is a fire road here which climbs up the mountain to 4000 feet. It's mostly paved and lots of people walk on it. There are places along the road with large groups of beehives and today the beekeepers were giving away jars of honey to everyone who came by. They handed me 2 jars and I stuck them in my Camelbak. Gonna go try the honey now.

This is a decent generator but a hand me down from my dad when they got an in-Line natural gas backup generator. It’s a solid unit but pull start. I did not bother with the hassle of running it last night but still no power so it’s running now. I had to show daughter #2 how to add gasoline since I am off to work soon and I have no idea how quickly this thing goes through gas.

Mine at my old house was slightly bigger, 5500 watts. It ran the sump pump, furnace, fridge, and our command center which was the kitchen with lights, tv, etc. and even quick microwave usage. The worst was keeping enough gas around for prolonged usage.

We got an electrician to wire several critical circuits so I just start generator, plug in heavy duty cable, and throw a few switches. My hope is we get regular power back soon but there are a lot of outages so it may be awhile.
