I was in the market for a bike rack a while ago and was doing some research. So I came across the Velo-Grip Bike rack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTS6IoDDHI0 and I was impressed, until I saw the price $269 for a 3 bike system and $239 for a 2 bike system. so I built one myself for $90 about an hour to install.
Husky Velcro straps 200lbs rated x5 $6 each $30
3 inch rings x5 $1 each $5
Brush nickel bar hangers x3 $8 each $24 (white ones were $5 I believe)
Brush nickel bar 6 foot $11
6x12 shelf board $11
Lag screws x9 .40 cents each
Packet of 1/2 inch screws for the board $4
