I need a 54cm frameset. The Master is appealing due to Ironman model levels but if they are all with Tange 1, that's cool too.

Not too picky if it's in fair condition though as with others I like the MV color scheme that shouts 80s.

Oh WOW!! Love that color scheme. Looks larger than a 58cm. Mayhaps its my size.....a 62cm? Since it is already butchered, it might be a great candidate for the 105 10 speed group I have sitting around. Now I have to add another color scheme to my daily local search for 62-64cm ironman bikes/frames.

I thought that was a Prestige at first. I wonder what the serial# is. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a very late entry in 1989 or even early 1990, before the Centurion name was totally discontinued in the US and the company went with the Diamondback name.

All the framesets were identical, Master vs. Expert, all Tange 1. Only difference was color scheme and Master=Shimano 600 and Expert=Shimano 105 and in 1989, Suntour GPX.

+1, as the only Prestiges I've seen were the 1985 grey/grey with the pretty chrome frame under the paint, and the 1989 in the color scheme shown. One wonders if someone put some Ironman decals on a Prestige frameset. There was a pretty beat up Prestige for sale not long ago that I saw on a CL Search Tempest....

Good theory Vintage_Cyclist.
My main question is what is the tubing decal on that Ironman.

I googled centurion ironman blue and found this: marbled-blue frame that was on Ebay. Another Texas bike too.

I also found this bike, which I assume is a repaint, but is a nice color scheme.

Definitely VeloCals.
I'm undecided on that one.

I didn't care for the build on that repaint job. Too much hipster dooshbaggery going on.

What is that on the left side of the ST on the San Antonio bike? I enlarged the 2nd picture and it looks like holes. I also can't make out the headtube decal either. Something strange going on. It might be another one of those ultra rare "Jack Scott" Ironman like the one sitting on the DC Craigslist.

Wow, I can't be the only one who thinks that Repainted blue fade looks good. I'd change the bars, wheels and saddle of course. But that's a great paint job. Personally I don't think there is a CIM who's paint is so bad I would repaint. I'd simply clean it thoroughly and clear coat it warts and all. That's an old pic as I've seen it before on another type forum.

On another note, I contacted seller of the San Antonio 89. She's selling for her boyfriend and is not near bike tonight, but will contact me tomorrow when she's home. I've asked about ST decal and will ask about those spots/holes in ST also. The mystery may be solved.
Just when you think you know Ironman, it mixes it up. Keeps R.T. on his toes.

I like the repainted blue fade too, not crazy about the build.

Google search turned up images for another blue marble color scheme. So the SA bike must be legit. Here is the link to the bike forums thread. About 3/4 of the way down the page. Poster is tugrul. Right under one of rccardr's posts.

If something bad should happen to the owner, see what the estate wants to do with the frame....

That sure didn't come up when I clicked on it. I did, however, search tugrul and Ironman. And much to my amusement, I saw a 1989 Centurion Ironman sporting the same color scheme today:

That site has a few other IM horror show builds as well. All repainted, all done as fades, except for one frame that is not a fade. In fact it is beyond the pale. It is something that is an infamy, a sacrilege...
