Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? "Gowanus" - i almost peed.

this video may be satire but i bet you theres some dudes in williamsburg who are doing this in real life. i saw boxed water in a store with helvetica print, its slogan was "water is better in a box". this was real life.

^ haha, yeah the gowanus water was pretty funny.
i get a kick out of how people tag on artisanal, besoke or vintage to things that are anything but in order to make their product look better than it is.

When I am on my yacht with a sweater around my neck and a braided belt around my khakis, I prefer the taste of Acqua di Cristallo. Those who do not drink are peasants or something and should not be around me unless they are serving me canapés and then scurrying away like the filthy urchins they are. When I am taking my yacht to the country club on my way to vineyard vines I don't want to see them.

We had that water at the hotel we stayed at in LA. They gave you a free quart...the fiji water was $10/bottle tho.

We have a soda stream at home, I can make any water fizzy. Screw you guys!

I have similar issues with some of the help at my many vacation homes. They struggle to comprehend how fatigued I become from crossing multiple time zones in my jet. In an attempt to please me, one of my people recently had a seltzer water ready and waiting upon my arrival. They don't seem to understand that opening it before I request it allows it to prematurely go flat. Another one thought it was acceptable to iron my socks and underwear whilst gloveless. I had to let her go. Finding good help is one of life's most difficult challenges.

I have been messing around with a set of (chro-mo) Speedplay Zeros myself the past couple weeks and while I really like the way they work - the cleat placement is so gawddam adjustable that I have yet to get them dialed in "perfect" and despair that I will never be able to stop myself from constantly adjusting the darned things. Swapped them out to use some toeclips/straps this weekend and am planning to put them back on my bike this morning but am sorely tempted to just go back to my old standby roadie clipless pedals
