Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Working like crazy to make my next two bike projects happen...

Hopefully a 1951 Rollfast frame build and a plain old 26' girls Huffy from the 60s or 70s to rescue from being yard art. One for me and one for another.

Sure, there is a Columbia frame in Boise for a hundred bucks, and it's the colors I want for the Rollfast, I just wanted the ballooner version of Tempest.

Actually it's a water tank.

I always say I'm done but this is really the last thing I'm going to buy for a while. I just ordered a set of November FSW3 wheels in a 20/24 configuration. I had no idea November had a new wheelset available until I received an e-mail with free shipping. Novatec hubs and kinlin rims and Sapim CX Ray spokes with CX Sprint on riverside should make for a great wheelset and they come in at 1515 grams. I look forward to unboxing these and giving them a good shakedown ride.

I just got a pair of the "Shut Up Legs" special edition of the XXX shoes in today. I work at a Trek dealer, and was able to scoop up the very last pair they had in my rather ample size, after it went on deep closeout. They're a bit on the garish side, but for the price I couldn't resist.

I shall ride eternal, shiny, and chrome!

Wow! I couldn't dare justify drawing that much attention giving my chops!

I was happy to find my size 47 (US 13) in plain old black for $250USD.

Picked up a Feedback Rakk. Wanted silver, but instant gratification of getting black at REI and saving like $8 over having a silver one shipped won out. Excuse my lack of carpet:

Much better than this plastic piece of junk I started off with (yes it's wrapped with tape to protect my spokes):

Also digging the chrome shoes. Nice pickup.

I just got a skullcap for colder rides and some clear oakleys so my eyes stop tearing up to gusty dry air.

Trek's still got a few pair of 'em left in 37, so if you've got really tiny feet, you're in luck!
