Not as pretty as camjr's, but--in honor of these United States, my hybrid took me to a different one today!

I went to Liberty State Park in Jersey City on my bike. Was surprised that the city and the park had the fireworks show was happening right in the park.
And the finale...
Traffic going home is horrible. Luckily for me on a bike, I zipped through the streets and right to home.

@camjr those are some really stunning photos!

I rode along the Great Allegheny Passage today, headed in the direction of Washington DC. I wasn't trying to get there, was just enjoying the path and seeing how far we could go. I was surprised at how nice the path was to bike along.

I thought this bridge was fun to ride over, and stopped for a photo.

Good thing I did, too, because while stopped I randomly pinched my tires to check the pressure and found that my front tire was completely flat. Had a really tiny puncture and a slow leak - pretty sure I know where I got it on the trail, just surprised that I didn't notice it while riding. That certainly put a damper on things, and we turned around to head home, even though we had the energy and water to keep going farther.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! It's amazing what you see in your own back yard when you park the car and get on the saddle! Of course, I don't need to tell anyone on this forum that!

Cheers!

Great photos! This is always one of my go to threads, I enjoy seeing the different parts of the world we all come from.. I didn't go very far today, I was just glad to get out- the last week the temps had been around 110 every day, too hot to ride... Anyway, today's ride was about 20 miles around the area here called Summerlin- this is at Queensridge. I do like to ride in nice neighborhoods- bike lanes, pretty scenery-and if I'm going to get hit by a car, I'd rather it be a Merc at least

I love looking at your shots from Japan. It really appears to be a great place to ride once you get out in the countryside. Thanks for sharing.

I checked out your pics in the MTB forum. Looks a bit squishy out there!

Thank you very much. I'm glad you like them.
Yeah, my city is quite beautiful also, as it has a good mixture of traditional buildings (some 800 years old or more) and modern. The coutryside is incredible to ride through. I am surrounded by mountains and so many routes. I have a friend here connected to a major bike manufacturer, who separately organises / helps create Rapha Gentleman rides, so he is a major influence on the courses we ride.

You are attaching the photos to the post. I don't know how that works. I use a photo host site and use the image tags "[img]photo url[/img]"

The photo was taken while we were on vacation. My observation was that the tourists at Mont Tremblant were about evenly split between French and English speaking. It was arguably the most English friendly locale I have been to in Quebec. Lots of the tourists are from Ottawa and other parts of Ontario, thus the English representation.

We live about 45 minutes from the Canadian border, and have been taking lots of bike trips to Quebec. It's a really bike-friendly province. I am very thankful for all of the discoveries that we have made.

Last weekend my girlfriend and I took in a jazz concert at Kollen Park in Holland, Michigan then biked around Lake Macatawa to the Lake Michigan shore for a walk on the beach to take in the sunset. My girlfriend rides a 2013 Specialized Vita Limited and as you can see it was a perfect evening for music, riding, and walking the beach.

Where did my hybrid take me today? Well, today my hybrid took me over a personal goal I had when I started riding in mid May 2014 when I turned 47, finally got serious about losing a little weight since I was at 230 and a Type II Diabetic, and decided to make a few changes. I started for two weeks on an old Mongoose MTB, quickly tired of pedalling that pig, purchased my 2013 Fuji Absolute 2.1 on May 30, 2014, and tried to start getting serious. I've posted a lot of shots of things seen during my ride, but this simple picture below means a lot to me. Tonight I finally acheived a personal goal of mine when I started riding almost 2 months ago. Tonight was the night I completed 100 miles in a one week period. 6 rides, one weeknight off, for a total of 101 miles from last Thursday through tonight (Wednesday).

So, where did my hybrid take me today? It took me on a very long, 101 mile route to my refrigerator for a celebratory beer. Tonight's selection is a Firemans 4 Blonde Ale Real Ale Brewing Company located in Blanco, TX.

Cheers everyone!!!
