Thought I'd bump this thread to see what people ended up doing last year (I was injured and couldn't go). After looking at the times from last year I'm leaning heavily towards the TT bike. It looks like competitive times were upwards of 21mph.

I think that a fair number of people in the P/1/2 race used TT bikes, not many in the lower cats. I think the profile is misleading though, it seemed that there were much steeper/rolly pitches than are portrayed there.

I'd go TT bike, disc rear, EC front. Bring the Reynolds front along. The wind can howl there and the EC might be a bit much in a crosswind. Full TT get up.

If there's a headwind you'll be way ahead of the game.

i've found may my ride to not be very accurate in drawing elevation profiles, especially the larger you go - short sections get smoothed over.

A few guys used TT bikes last year, some of them won their TTs, but they would have won on a road bike too. I brought my TT bike last year and after driving the course, decided against it. I thought I would use it this year, but I've only been on it once in the last 6 months, so I'll just stick with my road bike, but wear the funny helmet and skinsuit. I'm going to be in over my head in the 35+ this year.
