Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

speaking of moots. Now that’s a bike I would pay 6 grand for.

I'd consider a Framed frame to hang the spare fat bike parts I have, but they put QR dropouts out back.

The picture looks like a through axle, no?

Looking around the site it looks like some are qr and some through axle.

Would you be concerned about the qr not being secure or is it a wheel compatibility issue?
If I was looking to thrash around on a fat bike and the frameset is only $300 I could live with a qr.

Someone has to agree with me. Frankly, you'uns here have been doing a pretty poor job of it recently.

I already have a 197mm thru axle wheel.

I have QRs on my fatbike, but they're super burly QRs, not wimpy skewers:

Weather outlook for tomorrow is quite cold but sunny and not too windy. It may be a fool's errand, but I think I will pitch the trainer and ride outside.

Gotta find my balaclava and mittens, for sure.

I've been having issues with the fit on my trainer rig. The seat keeps sliding backwards. I've fixed it a few times but slowly it stretches me out. I figured it out last night. I had purchased a ec90 carbon post off ebay, when I built this bike for the trainer. It was cheap $17.00, guaranteed to be a Chinese copy. If I twist the seat side to side it acts like a spring. The entire thing flexes and slowly, slowly a micron at a time , the seat moves rearward. Its like its made of rubber.

The rear wheel on my MTB is QR. Using an old internal cam Shimano QR it works well, I don't have any slipping issues.

I screwed up though - when I bought the frame (used) thru-axle dropouts for my frame were available from the Canfield website but I didn't want to spend another $90 on something I didn't really need to get the bike going.

Now that I'd like to switch to TA, the NDS dropout is no longer available and they have no plans on making any more
