Cat 2
Skiing and moderate rides in the morning ING before going this weekend. Still adjusting to the new power zones.
Does anyone know how quickly you deacclimatize after leaving altitude? After getting back to Utah after xmas it felt like when I moved here all over again

Early Bird Clinic 5th, technically a race but not really.
It was a Juniors Camp with a clinic added on (about 10 adults). Thirty or so Cat 3-5 with mentors who raced (but not scored) lined up, but about 10 were 10-15 years old (which was a mistake). The course is only 800 meters, which initially I hated, but it really emphasizes cornering so I've learned to love it. You can't just speed through them, there's a technique to go through fast.

You are a brave, brave soul racing with juniors. I avoid them at all costs. I cringe when I see cat 1/2 juniors line up in our races and try to give them a wide berth. Only seen a handful of juniors that would ride halfway predictably.

Finally got to ride outside today. Did a whole bunch of everything. 2 hours, 170 TSS. Only 7.5 hours this week due to the freezingness. Looks like it's finally going to warm up. Of course, that means it's also going to rain everyday. Yay, winter.

Nice, I may look into it eventually myself. Not because I need to due to weather, just because I like how safe and convenient the trainer is. The road is risky - it's a jungle out there!

Another Early Bird Clinic; went over sprinting (which really wasn't much). In the mock race I got second but it was probably only about 12 people and the dude that won just rode us all off his wheel (tbf, I lapped everyone that didn't cut as well). It wasn't scored, so racers kept cutting the course which made it seem like I did much worse.
Most of these kids were local club riders who get free coaching by ex pro's, have been in the HS MTB League for 3-4 years, and practice safety drills at least once a week. Definitely safer than the average Cat 3 or 4 pack.
I know the type you're referring to; some of the other kids show up to group rides do some pretty dumb stuff (bumping for no reason, randomly bunny hopping stuff in packs, unpredictable cornering, etc.).

Light weekend before team camp next weekend.
Saturday I did only an hour with 6x5 just over threshold at ~60rpm, 2' RBI spinning high cadence back down the hill.
Early Bird training crit today, 120 TSS including warm up. It wasn't too hard, but it was the most intensity I've done in about 4 months. Where's the 2018 race results thread?

Big week this week, making up for lost time since I was sick all last week and traveling part of the week before.
22 hours this week total (including 3 hour hike), 913 TSS, 354 miles. Biggest week in a while!
Basically restarted Base 2. CTL up 11 points this week (to 73 tss/d), almost back to where it was before its sad/precipitous drop when I traveled and then got sick.

Race ride on Saturday. A teammate's handlebar caught a bush on the side of the road and went down hard. I was ahead of him and didn't realize it until the course came back around. Luckily he just had some road rash and a nasty hematoma on his hip but nothing broken.
Easy ride with my son today. Nobody fell, which is nice.

Yeah, it was on the sweeper and the wind was coming from the north so we were all guttered on the right fog line, going about 29 or 30. There are some oleanders that stick out. I was about 15th back and it looked like one of our ex-pros was trying to split the group.

I hit 16 a couple weeks ago (and will again this week) which will be my highest volume all year - and it's all outside .
Don't really care to ride much more than that . One day I guess it would be cool to take the week off work, ride 20+ hrs and really focus on recovery. If things go as planned with the lady I don't have many more seasons left with that kind of availability though...

This morning 1.5hr commute with 2x20 SS. I see the beauty of SS, you can do 90-98% ftp depending on how you are feeling.
