Flip's shirt
OK, my wife told me my clothes were too big to be wearing out anymore. To prove her point my younger daughter decided to get in side the shirt with me. I don't think I have a before picture. But this should give you some idea.
I still have about 40 pounds of fat I need to get rid of, but I am getting there.

I was at a 48" waist and now I am wearing 33" jeans, and need to wear a belt with those, so probably 32". I still have some belly fat that I know will be the last to go, so I am hoping for a 30" waist by the time all is said and done. I have donated most of my old clothes to a friend that has lost over 100 pounds and is still losing. I am trying hard to teach my daughters that exercise and eating properly now will save them a lot of hassles and health problems in the future.

Wow, this is an amazing thread! It never ceases to amaze me how much younger people look after they loose the extra weight. Very inspiring!

Me, on a fishing trip to Canada in June. Then on the MS 150 in Boise two weeks ago.
30 lbs lost and determined to hit 170 by next July. I've yo-yoed before, but finally, at 44 YO, I'm ready to accept myself as something other than an obese person. Sorry to be all serious, but getting there has been a looooong journey.

Guess I'm no longer a Clydesdale. These photos were taken in the course of 12 weeks. All I did was run 4 days a week, ride every day (commute to work, 7 mile round trip), commute everywhere else, to grocery store, haircut, whatever, lift two days a week. Oh yeah and watch what I eat 6 days each week. Inspired by AHAM23 (thanks man!)

*sigh* long way still left to go... But your looking at 280lbs down to 225lbs. Those are a little bit old though; I'll need to take some new ones.

And you'll turn out to be a wee Scottish beauty I'm sure Mr Time to Start will have to carry a Claymore, a Claybaigh and a Skean Dhu to chase off the guys

Best thing I have never done in my life to be honest with you. There are so many hidden benefits to weight loss it's just ridiculous. People treat you differently when they first meet you, you carry a lot of extra self confidence when you talk to others. You get respect from normal folk; people don't ignore you anymore, you have some authority. You can walk 1-mile across campus and not end up a sweaty mess for your class (hey that rhymes!).

[QUOTE=Tom Stormcrowe;3059375]I'll start this off. 359 pound weight loss, 32 inches of waistline gone!
Okay, Tom, you make us all look like pikers. But, I'll do what I can...
Before: 320 pounds (I topped out at 330) Size 52 waist, shirt by Omar the Tent-Maker
After: 265 (current weight), size 40 waist, XL shirt (I actually had some of my old dress shirts taken in by 5 inches on each side
Oh, and pictured with my WHITE bike

Raynman, when I started riding in March of last year my first ride was for one mile. Then I thought I was going to die. Then I rode the one mile back to the car and KNEW I was going to die! But I didn't and I'm going to have 3,000 miles this year, have lost 65 pounds and made my cardiologist smile The miles will come, just keep doing them, one mile at a time, one ride at a time.

Ride it like you stole it
I am trying to find a good before and after picture to post here too.

Try diet soda? Allow yourself to have a few a week, but keep track and take something else away. I use fitday.com to see what some of this stuff actually costs me; usually is enough for me to put it down!
I accidentally broke myself of my soda habit when I got food poisoning (bad Mexican) after drinking Dr. Pepper - couldn't drink the stuff afterwards for a long time!
My addiction is food. All kinds. Sigh....
Great job y'll!
I hit about 280 in April which was almost an all time high. Started biking, I'm down to about 260 +-2 and can't seem to drop below (since July). Pants and shirts are looser but can't get past that hump. Would like to be down to 220 before the year's end but I'll have to push that back.

Well, I jumped in with a random post, so now I'll introduce myself properly, My name is Kat, I'm an "Athena" I suppose, since it seems the men are the "Clydesdale's" I started my journey at 260 pounds joined weight watchers and had gone down to 233 but lost my motivation and gained some back, but now I'm at 243ish, fluctuating til I got my bike 2.5 weeks ago, now it's steadily going down again. I ride a little shy of 4 miles right now on a semi daily basis, I'd love to get out everyday but it's so cold and wet and I have no rain gear as of yet... I digress, I'll post my before and during pictures later as I need to find them before I can. Look forward to getting to know you all!

Yeah, but Tom, you lost the equivalent of TWO REGULAR SIZED PEOPLE But I have had some positive results, like zero cardiac events, zero angioplasties, zero hospitalizations. Oh, and more than zero attention from the ladies (they don't mind a Clydesdale, but to borrow from the Harley crowd, they don't care too much for a "Wide Glide.")

I don't have a current after pic but the first one is from two years ago, the second is from September. Starting weight: 288 Current weight: 208
I went from XXL shirts with an 18" neck to L with 16.5" and from 42"W to 34" I even had to get rid of some shoes that I had stretched out.

Thanks Tom, you old flanneller you! - but you forgot to mention the compound bow that Mr Time to Start would favour!!
Catch them before they get too close!!
Also - Hi Kat! You are in much the same boat as I am.
I've just started cycling too and doing just under 4 miles when I go out just now, hoping to up that soon.
I keep saying this, but don't you think this is a great forum? These guys are an inspiration.

Kat, slow and steady is the best. You'll be more apt to keep it off because you will have made a change in how you live your life rather than just "dieting".
