Wow! I love your spirit. The journey is awesome. I live at a place that is 220' below sea level. The landscape has some hard pack off-road trails between soft silty desert land. I believe that with a similar set up I could get 40 miles on a charge. What do you think?

Please excuse me as I am and not able to post a pic of my rig due to newbie restrictions. It is a inverted e-trike with 20" wheels and 3" tires. Front suspension and rigid rear. Weight is around 95 lbs and I am 175. I used to race cross country and downhill but have lost some of my fitness due to age and responsibilities. What is your ride's wt with you on it?

Excellent rig weight. I used ride in a green area near Houston. It was called, Cambodia and Laos. Have you ever been and if so, is it still a open riding area?

I am not familiar with the area you described. Where is it, in general. It may be merged or renamed. Houston has steady development to support bike riding.

That's a good question. I think it was south of Houston and near a University. I remember there was a river near. That was 30ish yrs ago.

Thank you, that one has a 440 lb towing capacity. And room for multiple cargo carriers. I am currently looking to upgrade the motor and battery combo. It has the Bafang 500w mid. I want a 750w nominal mid or hub with a torque sensor. Does anyone here have a recommendation?

Look to ebikesca (Grin) for a hub with a torque sensor; the only mid DIY that I know of with a torque sensor is the Tongshen, but I'm sure there are more.

Built this over summer. Turned out to be pretty fun ride, considering front heavy motor. 1000 watt, 48 volts.

Xx, your bike appears to have aluminum lowers on the front fork (although it's hard to tell from the picture); if so, you should have two torque arms (there doesn't appear to be any). Selling that bike could result in a major lawsuit if the motor "twists" in the fork dropouts.

I had this bike custom built, incorporating everything I wanted for long tours - comfort, big battery, ability to go off road, decent road handling, low maintenance, and ability to carry a touring load. The frame is a Surly Bridge Club. I've done a 300 mile mountain tour so far with it and it is a joy. Here are some salient parts:
- Schwalbe 650bx50 G-one speed tires
- Rohloff 14 speed rear hub
- Jones H handlebars
- PNW dropper suspension seatpost
- Brooks B67 saddle
- Tongsheng TSDZ2 750w middrive motor
- 52v 21AH battery
The handlebars look high, relative to the seat, in this picture. That is because the dropper seatpost is in its dropped position. When fully extended the handlebars are at same level as the seat.
