In this case, it is too tight on her noggin. A new helmet is on the list.

I showed Sebastian the pictures and he said he expects to see the bars re-wrapped when you post the next photos

LOL. I'm actually waiting to see if I need to swap the bars out. Hoping the stem shows up tomorrow and I think it will solve the problem. If not, I may have to look at theses:
https://www.jensonusa.com/Handlebars/...Reach-Road-Bar

Rather not re-tape the bars until I know.

Slow down there gramps! I don't need any of those YET! However, when I do, I'll do everything I can to go riding with them, too! I'm gonna be the cool grampa that takes them for a bike ride and stops at 7-11 for a Slurpee! (Don't worry, I'll tell their parents we went to the farmer's market for fresh fruits and veggies!)

I recently acquired the zipp version of those bars and I must say, I like 'em. I didn't realize how much I hated my old bars until I wasn't using 'em anymore.

38 might be too large for your ramekin full of pastry product though. How large are the current ones? Measure outside to outside at the bottom of the drops (some drops angle slightly outward too so they'll measure slightly larger than they seem to ride)

Don't you mean buy them a Slurpee at the 7-11 after they've waited there for an hour or so for grandpa PJ to catch up?

36 C-C or 36 O-O? The ones he was looking at don't come smaller than 38.

Maybe cupcake needs a garmin now too.

and some Sidis

Get her doing triathlons with you and the missus. Personally, I won't run unless somebody is chasing me with a gun but apparently some folks like it.

^ Running became obsolete as soon as the safety cycle was invented.

I'm sending my Uncle Guido to "explain" to you the error in your judgement!

They want to do tri's with us. They went to "support" us on the Race around the Base. CLEARLY would have preferred to be participating instead.

And I agree about running. I HATE every step, but Mrs. PJ and I do well by setting goals and having to work toward them. The sense of accomplishment is worth a measly 3 mile run.

Got the 50mm stem yesterday in the mail. Put it on last night. Significant improvement. Need to go ride now to check it out. Probably tomorrow morning.

Also slid the seat forward. I'm mixed about this because of pedaling geometry, however, I'll watch her ride and see if anything looks out of place.

The Crash the Marathon was the longest ride Mrs PJ has ever done. Tomorrow is going to be the longest hill. She said she wants to ride it because, again, she likes conquering the challenge. But she has no desire to do GMR. I have to let it be her idea, but the day will come....mark my words! Mwahahhahhahahahaah!!!!!!!

I still think you should consider getting a straight seatpost to replace the setback which will give her the extra 1/2" to drop the seat and will help offset the lower stackheight of the sidis and speedplay pedals

I am NEVER bringing cupcakes on any ride the either TH or you are on. I just can't afford it!!!!

I think this may be a cheaper approach to the height issue:

That's where the term "cupcakes" comes from. Her jersey has a big cupcake on the back.

Well, if you're in SoCal keep your eyes peeled for another one of our semi-famous GMR rides too. We had tons of people riding those Tin bikes last time. you missed out on the photo op.

that's jeepseahawk, photojoe and tinrobot in order.

Sounds great! I'll keep my eyes peeled. I hike/mountain bike Colby trail, and live in San Dimas, so I'm very familiar with the area.
