Nothing too fancy here. Just a short jaunt a few miles down the road to The State Fair of Texas with the girlfriend. She wanted to try her new bars on her Surly Cross Check out and I wanted to do a shakedown run on a new to me Miyata One Ten I got last night. We definitely ate our fill of fried food and then had a nice leisurely ride home. Just quality time really.

Finally did my first metric century today. Rode my Fuji TS VII down the NH coast, over to Newburyport to cross Merrimack River and then down Plum Island until the paved road ended in the refuge. Google pegged it at 54km one way. Slow pace, took a little over 5 hours including breaks to down some bananas and fig newtons and some time on foot in the refuge. Nice place.

Rode 52 miles yesterday on one of my favorite loops through Scituate and Foster RI. A little nippy.

I did a 50 miler with good friends this AM. High Falls, Accord, Kerhonkson, Minnewaska, Gardiner, Tillson, Rosendale, High Falls. The colors were great and the temperature was just right! Here we with the Shawangunk Ridge in Gardiner, heading back towards Mohonk.

Schools in Utah had a long weekend so we did a 4 day mountain bike tour circumnavigating a local group of hills. Typical fall conditions around here: Warmish days and long cold nights in the sleeping bag.
It must have been around 150 miles and 15000' of gain. These are challenging numbers, but more of a concern were the staggering amount of hunters zooming about in the woods on ATVs.

Kind of a two-fer..... last weekend a little 50 mile spin out to Livermore and back, and this weekend a nice loop at and around the coast. Both days, about 75-80 degrees with blue skies and a light breeze. I love fall.
Passed by a motocross park, and took a pic of the kids playing. Looks like fun!

Mrs. Gomango invited me out to lunch in Hastings on Sunday.
On the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
About 25 to 30 miles south of our house in St. Paul.
I left w/o my winter gloves. Almost had to stop and pick some up on the ride, but it was pointed out that I already have a pair or four in the bike room!
and on Saturday, we went for a fun ride on the "Grand Rounds" route in Minneapolis.
Rode with several couples and a very nice local shop owner.
A scenic 56 mile route around Minneapolis and some of its northern suburbs.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Tonight I took the girls out trick or treating and as my ability to walk is limited I took the '72 Raleigh 20 and pootled up and down the block as they went house to house.
They wore themselves out and I never would have been able to keep up with them if I had been walking... the panniers were pretty handy for hauling their haul back home and of course... there was a "dad tax".

Not nearly as glamorous, but it was all urban riding, so bike lanes, shared lanes,and owned lanes. 27 mph was pretty nice in FL, 50 foot elevation drop over 2 miles really lets you wind it out.

Spending some time at the LA (Lower Alabama) beach this November. Rode 16.5 miles today on combination of back country trail and main beach front road. Perfect weather although it was very strong off shore headwind on the way back. Low traffic and good bike lanes.

Today was a short but sweet ride. My son and I hooked up the big rig and went to school.
He tried riding at home without training wheels earlier this week, without much success. Out driveway isn't long enough, and our street is not safe to ride on. The playground at my daughter's school is plenty big, so we decided to give it a shot.
After a couple of hot laps, he was trying to drop me. He did awesome! He needs to work on mounts and dismounts, but he is now rid of training wheels.
I am very proud of him. He got into a tank slapper, and went down once on the pavement, but brushed it off and get right back on. I only rode about 4 miles today, but ran another two, chasing him.

Well, this is a seriously crappy shot, last night but me and a local riding buddy (forum member JPTwins) took a night ride from his house in Boston to the Blue Hills Reservation after our wives agreed to put our kids down, to take advantage of a wonderfully clear sky with nearly full moon and mild temps. Unfortunately, this photo of a concrete wall doesn't quite capture the essence of the ride, but it was a very pleasant ~30 mile ride!
