you can really see how sketchy the handling got by how gingerly he takes that corner (>90*).
if the skies had to open up during the race, that was probably the best possible time. m45-49 were 10' behind us and would have been hit early on in the decisive climb.
if it happened 1h earlier, we'd probably have had 80+ riders from my field facing hypothermia.
my family couldn't believe the size of the welts i had from that hail when i returned home yesterday.

And another bites the dust.. final CCCX in two weeks cancelled too! =[
It woulda be a low-turnout event I'm sure, but I was looking forward to it..
I guess I should just come to terms with the fact that the season has to end at some point.. Oakland & Coppertown still scheduled though, I'll be at both. Cat 2's scored separately at Oakland too, woo hoo.

Hmm I thought my season will be over with trip to Germany, but I am thinking of doing Oakland and Coppertown. Assuming the weather holds up.
Speaking of CCCX, their final race last year was a small disaster. In 4's there was a crash what seemed every other lap on that U turn. At one point I was on fourth wheel and all three people in front of me crashed. Barely managed to avoid them.

Oh I thought it was the other course for the last CCCX anyway.. the "Bay View" course or whatever needs to be taken out back and shot, no wonder nobody shows up for it!!

Last year they had it at some development, with all the crap from construction on the road, with a U turn on a damp road on down hill.

Well I am out of Oakland, and probably calling it end of season. Crashed on my bike this morning. Was practicing sprinting and I think chain dropped from front chainring. Lost the front and went sliding on my hip and arm at 30mph. Tons of road rash, back wheel has a snapped spoke, but most importantly I don't have a faith in my bike now. Its a new chainring. Still Dura Ace but newer one. I don't know why the chain dropped, everything looked well adjusted. Just don't want to have that at the back of my mind as I am going for a finish line all out. Will bring it to outfitters see what they say, and see if back wheel is salvageable.
