Colnago Master frame/fork - $125

Such a deal! Colnago Master frame and fork for $125!

Vintage Steel Orange Road Bike Frame Set With Campagnolo Fork Size 55 (Colnago) | eBay

Well, at least the stickers say it's a Colnago. Never mind that there are ZERO distinctive Colnago markings anywhere on the frame and fork.

The seller does say that it is a vintage frame "with Colnago stickers". Could do a bit more to avoid misrepresentation.

I'm not quite sure what your point is. Did I miss something?

There are a couple of slightly more expensive Merckxs for sale.

Vintage 10th Anniversary Eddy Merckx Campagnolo Chorus ladies bicycle L'eroica - GBP 2,195.00 Approximately US $2,704.02

Eddy Merckx Donna Frameset Size 50 - US $1,995.00

I actually did put an offer in on the Merckx frame.... for a little less than the asking price. So far, no response from the seller.

The ones referred to are the bike boom cheapo's. Merckx, although usually regarded as high end, the Falcon made are heavy low end gaspipe. I know of a bike re-seller who's asking $1200 for one of those and in poor condition.

Ocana as well, attempted to capitalize on his name and most were low end.

Other: Ocana vs. Merckx in racing lore.

This is not lipstick on a pig; this is cosmetic surgery and hormone therapy on a pig. Good luck, pal.

70s/80s 27" Free Spirit Single Speed

70s/80s 27" Free Spirit Single Speed - $500 (United States)

1709 B Bellevue Ave

make / manufacturer: Free Spirit
model name / number: 10
size / dimensions: 27"

For sale is a Free Spirit model 10 from the 70s or 80s. It is sporting a green/gold/chrome finish scheme boasting a brand new hand built aluminum 27" wheelset. New parts include origin 8 seat, handlebar, tape, tektro front and rear brake levers, jagwire brake cables, tektro caliper brakes front and rear with salmon pads, kmc x chain, shimano free spin single cog, panaracer 27x1-1/4 tires, and 27" aluminum rims.

I've owned this bike a few years now slowly chipping away at parts to get her road worthy. Since ownership about 8yrs ago this bike was torn down and only recently buttoned up. As it stands, it maybe has 5mi on all the new parts. I went the extra mile with the new levers/brakes/cables/chain/rims to make this bike stand out along with, more importantly, perform well. The head and bottom bracket have been disassembled, cleaned, and regreased. Original green paint along with original hand painted pinstripes, "made in china" and model type wording, and chinese alphabet symbols set this free spirit apart from many others you may have seen or remembered as a kid. Note the gold bar, cables, chain, and spoke nipples compliment the original scheme while the post and stem, levers, brakes, original crank/arms, and rims keep it classy in chrome!

I like this bike a lot, I built it exactly how I wanted. Not over the top and not skimping on parts. I've probably invested more than I'm asking and never expect such a return. However, with the upgrades and very good condition I've set my asking price.

Thanks

Crikey, he could have at least junked the cottered crankset!

(... I'd probably buy it for a hundred)

There seems to be a large contingency of "make this gaspipe POS a fixie, try to sell it for $500" guys out there.

That funky rear-end was a wacky feature of early Cannondales.

It looks like that may be similar to their 1996 2.8 SR500 (silk road).
