If you measure the distance between the rear drop-outs, this might give an indication eg. 125 mm might be the 1960 era, 5 speed ?

Also, the spacing at the fork ends. Not the same era, but my 1952 Rudge clubman-type has a front fork that wants 89 mm hub spacing, as close as I can tell. For my '73 Super Course frame I can't really compare - guess why, fork is bent!
