^ agreed. Its not a priority for me to race. I'll only do it for the fun and 'culture'. Which is why my pt is for sale. But thats another story.

1) WIN on the track & upgrade (main goal)
2) race as much of the collegiate season as I can (secondary goal)
3) WIN on the track & upgrade again by year's end (stretch goal... we'll see about this)

given that I'm likely to weigh sub 155 at my heaviest over the next 12 months, getting to elite track level will take some hard, hard work.

For years I have heard "I can't do this, I can't do that" - I am always open to help someone out especially since I am such a bike believer in weight work on the bike but it takes dedication not only on the bike and in the gym but in diet, sleep etc. I make the offer to many but few are serious enough to take me up and follow it.

My unemployment has led to my not working with my local coach anymore... but let me think about it on my ride today and get back to you?
I've got a lot going on in my life, and I don't make coaching/partnership decisions lightly.

yep - my career field is pretty volatile, and will be for the next while. I'm tired of being so dependent on market fluctuations, as well as the simple fact that my field needs fewer & fewer people to get the job done. I want to stay in my field, but as RX said one time (paraphrase), '...make Real, Tangible goods (not services) which can not be off-shored and create actual value'

Grad school will only be for 12 months, and my degree will round out my resume to a remarkable degree... giving me great options to work in non-offshoreable positions, providing tangible value that is very symbiotic to my previous experience, as well quite rare.

So, a 12 month masters, in a complimentary field to my career, at a public university, two miles from my house.
...sounds like a good investment to me.

**Also, this is by far my biggest goal for the next year ;-)**

I have some specific metrics goals and boring stuff like that, but it boils down to this:

- Race a lot. More races than racing age sounds like a plan. That would double my count from last year.
- Feel like I belong in the Cat4 pack
- Try not to spend too much money on parts.
- Don't take myself too seriously. e.g. losing 5lb isn't going to break my season, so don't get so depressed about it.

RX, i know you are just joking, but there's no age limit. A few years ago we had a guy in his late 40's racing collegiate A's (Cat 1-2-3) for us. The guy was the same age as the parents of the other racers in his field.

I was planning to go until I missed both track workouts this week due to bathroom remodel planning (demo starts next week). I may go anyway just so that I can say that I "raced" at least once each month of 2011. I make up for quality with quantity.

I missed 3 days thanks to the remodel and the recabling of the BFH (Bike From Hell). I'm going anyway.

well, given what bike I'm pretty sure you have... were you expecting otherwise?
the wrenches at my shop say that Di2 is SUCH a good idea for that bike.
