You should have invested $6.66 in the mystery box. Best money I've spent in ages.

It's time for a new chain. I hope my chainbreaker can handle it.

Considering it's no different than breaking a standard 1 1/8" KMC chain, I'm sure you'll be fine (unless, of course, your chain breaker is made of mashed potatoes).

I bought a Velocomputer bluetooth speed sensor to see how it works. $22 on Amazon. AFAIK it is the only bluetooth speed sensor on the market that doesn't use magnets.

Put the battery in it and it paired with my iPhone by itself. I enabled bluetooth sensors in the Stava app and it showed up automagically. The shape of the rubber holder is funky but the rubber itself doesn't seem any different than the Garmin holder.

It is very sensitive, turns on by itself whenever you move the box a little. You can see the light on in the first picture.

New wheel day - Polished Sun M13II on Formula Hubs from Velomine. Can't beat $119! Not noticeably heavier than my custom built H-Son wheelset on my Paramount, which was definitely NOT $119. Proper 2016 photos of both bikes forthcoming.

But it is going to have fine Italian shifter levers instead of the Dia Compe's. I have some older DuraAce 9 speed shifters which will go on them so I can finish up the new touring bike finally. My homebrew levers didn't quite work out like I wanted them too so I gave up and went with what I should have done in the ding dang first place.
