This is my first post in this forum, and this thread seemed like a good place to start. I am currently working on two "mystery frames" (mysteries to me at least), one is an Eddy Merckx Corsa that has got the characteristics of an early 80's Corsa but has got the paint job of a mid 90's one, and the other one is a Gazelle Champion (Mondial?) which looks almost identical to some other Champion Mondial's I've seen except it only has "Champion" on the top tube. The research will continue when I'm allowed to post pictures. I really need help identifying these frames. The builds will continue regarless though!

Put decent alloy wheels on it and if the budget strikes you as okay some lighter alloy components. You'll be surprised at how good a nominally low-end bike can be. You might want to keep it geared for some great road riding.

Last year as I was riding home from work, a tourist opened their car door in front of me. Bent the front wheel and unknowingly the rear. Been riding the bike with a different front wheel since. The rim is bent as in over the curb that I hit. A couple of months ago I bent it back but haven't finished it yet. Last week I got a flat and in the process of checking out the rear wheel, I discovered a "flat" spot in the rim. Last couple of days I have been working on truing up the rim like I did the Bottecchia rim. Approach in the picture.

Monday, I received my Campagnolo 8v record cassette for the record hub picked up locally. The NOS wheel with Campagnolo tubular rim with Chorus freewheel hub was disassembled and rebuilt with the record hub. Truing will be done in the next couple of days.

Size matters.
The last piece to finish my Golden Sunbeam finally arrived. The bottom axle was 5mm too short and the 'Little Old Oil Bath ' had rubbed a groove in the crank over the last 70 odd years. Hope to hit the road tomorrow!

In the last week or so I have been getting my 87 Nishiki Cresta GT back together, waxed the frame, installed the new Velo Orange headset and bb, cleaned and installed the brakes with new Kool Stop pads and put in the stem/bar/lever combo that I had assembled. Its getting there and I am itching to ride it.

The usual happy tornado of bike-related items continues:
- '74 Schwinn Paramount gets back to 3x9 down tube shifting (from a 2x9 STI setup), her original-when-first-set-up stem/bars, but now with nice (and more comfortable for long rides) Tektro R200 levers. BB swap, crankset swap, stem/bar swap, cable deletion/swap, shifter type swap. Rigged up and tuned late last night. Trued the wheels this morning.
- '87 Schwinn Prologue continues her transformation into a full 7900-era Dura-Ace bike, while at the same time merrily in the pursuit of a weight in the high 18 lb range--I'm 100g or so shy of the 19.0 lb mark--ready to ride, of course. I need a BB tool for the smaller Dura-Ace 9000 BB as I'm installing some recently-bought (for a killer deal) 7900 cranks.
- The newly acquired '81 Trek 710 needs "more information" (parts/flexibility) for me to make a decision to keep it original with its nice 600 Arabesque parts, or go pretty modern parts.
- Deciding the future of my small-for-me '85 Paramount. 62cm with traditionally set up drop bars (and brake levers), like on some of my other bikes, is just too small. That extra 1.5 to 3.0 cm makes that fit difference. If I run compact-profile bars and STIs, I gain 3.0cm in hood height, which could be the difference maker. It looks beautiful with its current bars, but I want to ride this thing!
- The '90 Cannondale ST and '84 Miyata 610 touring twins will need work, and the 610 may very well be built up again, 'panda' color scheme and all.

I might have done some bike wrenching today, as I like to do that on Sundays, but the spirit moved me to clean my wife's car. It was pretty horrible before I started. I took a few hours to do it. She was grateful, of course. I did some chores around the house, too, as my wife does most of the painting and staining etc. in the renovations. Oh, I did organize and clean my workspace in the barn a bit. I was going to clean my wife's bike, too, as the drivetrain is pretty grimy, but I ran out of time before it was time to head back to the city for the week. I'm on the bus now, as I write this.

Today was the second day of work on the Raleigh Panasonic Team Cadet. Mostly frame and fork work. Polished. Touched up what I could paint wise. Then shot it with some clear.

Still trying to get this whole wheel truing figured out. I have a nice set-up with a comphy padded chair, wheel in a frame at eye level. I’m determined just at wits end.

Get yourself a proper truing stand. I use a minoura and like it quite a bit. I tried truing on a bad truing stand and with s brake caliper but it is nowhere near as quick and accurate as a good truing stand with micro adjustment capability.

This is just a mock-up as the saddle & wheels may change.
Upgrades may come if the ride is worthy. Looks like 23s on the rear unless I dremel a bit.

Also still needs a good polish.

The Weinmann Deltas have a slot where the brake's mounting bolt can be positioned up or down, which (I assume) allows for different wheel sizes.
The brake pads are not adjustable, up and down.
It looks like the front will take a 25mm tire but the rear is tight with a 23. By elongating the slot for the bolt it may be possible to get a few millimetres of clearance.

I picked this Specialized A1 for $10.00 a couple of weeks ago.
Owner asked for an offer...I asked what he wanted for it...he said, $10.00! I said, Sold!
Wasn’t shifting up front...cables too tight!
All’s well now.
Original Specialized tires.
Put about twenty miles on them...plenty of tools and patches wth me.
Did 6 miles from the campground today...front tire blew coming into the campsite.
No problem.
I brought new Continents GatorHardshell 700x25 folders just for the situation!
All changed up with new tubes!
Close match on the paint!
Not a flat tire you want to change in a hurry!
