I was wondering how easy it is to pedal a road bike.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had an old mountain bike and was rolling 24km/h on my best rides, I bought a road bike, now I'm averaging 31km/h on my best rides. And no, I didn't train like hell between the 2, it's just the bike.

I was already wondering why it was taking you so long to demonstrate your negative self again

In the case of "an old mountainbike" it might have to do with a rusty or worn out drivetrain, bad hubs, crappy tires, etc ... on top of an upright position.

The wheels on a decent road bike vs. what you typically get on most hybrids will probably make a difference too. "Easy to pedal" could well include acceleration from a stopped position, which can really be improved with better wheels.

If it makes you happy, I'll gladly answer "yes" to that question
