I saw another couple of ads this morning, for "female" bikes. I've seen bikes made for girls, bikes made for boys, bikes made for men, and bikes made for women, but the bikes themselves have all been neuter. At least, I thought they were. Is there something I be looking for on bikes? Do you have to invert them to tell?

Check out the pic of rhw piece by the chain that broke while in storage...
https://poconos.craigslist.org/bik/1169874080.html
Schwinn Mountain bike in pretty good condition. There is a piece by the chain that broke while in storage. Can be fixed, probably real easily by someone handy. Everything else seems to be in great shape. ASKING $75 OBO. Make me a reasonable offer I can't refuse!

Yes, it's a "stair basket," one of those 1960's inventions (along with little yellow pills Mick Jagger sang about) to help Mommy get through her busy day. She simply puts it at the bottom of the stairs while cleaning the house all day, and throws stuff into it, like kids toys that should have stayed upstairs. When the kids get home, they have to take the basket upstairs and empty it before they can have their after-school snack. That way she doesn't burn her frozen steak and go running for the shelter of her mother's little helper....

Bottom bracket to stem post 61cm
To be fair, there were other measurements given besides the all important downtube length.

The most optimistic buyer ever:
Wanted: 1970s Schwinn Women's Bike - $15 (Orange County)
Reply to: sale-zyt4j-1174625591@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I am looking for a 1970s women's bike : Collegiate, Breeze, Suburban, Free Spirit any of these. Prefer it to be in working order esp. brakes and chain. For the price I'm asking I know the bike may need tires or something. I can deal with that. Anyway, I would like to use the bike and I would not be re-selling it.
It dawned on me today that maybe the reason the prices are so high for these types of bikes is because the people who own them don't want other people to make a profit off them. They want their cherished retro bike to go to someone who will ride it and take good care of it. And that's exactly what I would do.
Email me back if you have a bike like this you'd be willing to sell at this price. Thanks.
I sold a nice women's Schwinn Collegiate last summer for $145.00 a few hours after the ad posted. Got a flood of responses. Might have asked too little, but I think it was fair. Good luck, buttercup.

I am thinking about posting the following ad myself....
Wanted: 1950s Men's Hetchins Experto Crede bike - $15
I am looking for a Hetchins Experto Crede bicycle from the early 1950s in pristine, scratch-free, original condition with all original components. For the price I am asking I know the bike may need dusting off, oiling or minor wheel trueing. I can deal with that. I won't re-sell it and buy a used BMW Z3 with the money I get for it...I promise!

It has a generator operated light, double baskets on the back. You can see in the pictures, the paint and decals are in very good condition with a few small scrapes. All of the chrome appears to be in good shape just needs some TLC. Includes built-in kickstand.
Believe it was manufactured in 1972 or 1973. Overall this is a nice old Breeze that will look great cruising around the neighborhood. Check out the original matching Schwinn grips and saddle. You won’t find many in this condition."
Asks you to check out original grips and saddle, but doesn't include a photo. You have to remember to proofread you ads before posting them.
