Last night on the ride home, I got called out by another cyclist for not fully stopping at a stop sign. There were no cars to the left, front, or right of me...I slowed down but I did roll it. I dont know why it annoyed me but it did, so I turned aroubnd and caught up to the guy. I just asked if he had ever rolled a stop suign evere. "Only when I dont notice the sign" or something like that was his repsonse. Hard to argue with perfection

Either way...I do get the importance of trying our best to observe the traffic laws. I will try.

This morning, two runners almost got bowled over by a car running a red, and then at that same intersection, a cyclist was very annoyed with a jogger using headphonbes running with a gdog...in the bike lane. Goofy morning!

But still a nice ride in.

Didn't go to work yesterday, upset stomach. Haven't ridden since Saturday and was really sluggish this morning. Cool (3C/37F) this morning which is a complete turnaround from the last couple of weeks when it was a "cool" 11C in the morning and 23-27C on the way home, we will be lucky to reach double digits this afternoon but the rest of the week is improving. On Mother's Day (Sunday), we had a snow blizzard but because the ground temperature was above freezing, the snow didn't stay but it was awful, especially in May!

Today's commute was chillier than usual with drizzles and at times moderate rain. Except for having serious issues with my new bike's tires (see post on worst tire) and having to ride much slower than I usually do, I enjoyed not being roasted by the sun and even the rain was pleasing when it wasn't streaming into my face.

The temp on my commute this morning was the same as yesterday 38f but today the skies were mostly cloudy. The ride was very enjoyable except, my right leg was tired.

I was riding to my daughter’s house this morning instead of work to pick up my car as I have pt after work today. My original plan was to have her drop me and my bike at her house and ride the seven miles back home after pt, but I am rethinking that plan if I want to ride again tomorrow am. I may be better off having her take me all the way home this evening and ride again tomorrow giving my right leg a break.

taking a few days off from bike-commuting to drive my sister to work. She's taking a cough & cold medication that may loop her out a little too much to drive safely. Should be back at it in a week or so.
Cheers

42 Degrees almost decided to drive and ride tomorrow but didn't. Rode anyway. Put on a performance softshell like jacket and warmed as I rode. It did not feel bad at all. I believe that this was my coldest ride ever. or one of my coldest. It was great! birds singing crisp air but good ride averaged 16 miles per hour.

apparently summer is at the end of the week for us here in NC

53F this morning - 16 degrees warmer than yesterday. It's supposed to get into the 80's this afternoon and I'm ready to get sweaty!! With warmer weather come the fair weather commuters (no criticism) and the reminder that I'm slow - in the winter no one passes me because no one's out. Ah well...

I'd have said the stop sign is intended to give motorists enough time to read the intersection. Since you arrive at a lower speed, you are perfectly able to read the intersection while rolling.

I ran a red light just now, felt guilty about it and made a speech in my head about how I did not endanger myself or anyone else and I obeyed the intent of the law if not the law itself. I found myself quite convincing.

Cold ride in this morning (low 40s, with a frost advisory overnight). Isn't it supposed to be Spring?

Finished building up my new race frameset last night so this morning was a shakedown ride. Saddle a couple of mm too low. Left lever a degree or two off, rear brake caliper could be a mm tighter, bars could be rotated up a skoash.

39 degrees but dry. I didn't feel like riding today, I don't know why. But I did and I'm glad.

Commute this morning was a carbon-copy of last week...and the week before. Mid 50's F in the morning. No wind. No precipitation. Evening commutes have been anywhere from 65º to 85º F with a 5-15mph headwind.

Today was even colder than the last two only 30f, but the good thing is today the sky was clear blue and even as cold as it was it was a very enjoyable ride to work. The cold without the precipitation and wind of winter is and bright sunshine is very acceptable weather for me. I was not able to ride home last night as my rt leg was tired, so I gave it a rest and had my daughter drive me and the bike home after physical therapy.

Beautiful weather this morning and a great ride -- only marred by my own stupidity. Yesterday I accidentally locked my keys to the storage room where I stow my gear during the day inside the room as I was leaving work. Fortunately I had a spare key to my bike lock in my pocket, but it made my commute this morning rather troublesome. I keep my towel, bath supplies, pants, shoes and other clothes in that room and hang up my cycling clothes there to dry in the mornings. That meant I had to put my large Carradice bag on my bike and carry extra pants, towel, shoes, socks to work this morning -- which made for a slow ride this morning with all of the extra weight.

What a difference three days make - Monday morning 34 degrees and cloudy; yesterday 57 degrees and windy; today 68 degrees and sunny, no wind. Only in Wisconsin!

But any day of riding is a good day.

Still cool at 6 celcius, sunny, no wind.
Tonight should be harder with strong winds and a lot of rain.

I passed the 3000 kms mark last night (total, not commuting only).
