that is a good load lol. i think i could tow that with my winter bike but i don't think i would be able to stop if i started going down a hill. the brakes would fail because of all the extra stress and weight pushing the bike.

My brother in law loves demonstrating bicycle power. I talked to him after the move. He wasn't tired out at all. He made two trips with that trailer, and had four flats on the trailer tires that day. He was quite pleased that his Surley LHT had a 32T in front and a 34T in back. I think Chris might have even helped build the trailer. He does look so happy!

I did a little trip to the post office and then Home Depot for some supplies for a job. I was also looking to show off my trailer that I'm making but since it was raining it wasn't exactly the happy picture of utility biking I wanted to present alas

Unfortunately, I don't have a trailer (no room in my apt. to store one). But I still wanted to take out the recycling w/o a car. It took two trips to the recycling center approx 1 mile away. Suck It Cars!

Spent the morning trying to figure out the best way to haul safely, and without damaging anything, a load of Pacific Carryme folding bikes for my rental bike business.





I think 7 just might be doable. 3 on each sideloader and 1 lying on the top rack.

I learned the single leg kickstand is definitely not gonna cut it. Need to get Yuba`s new dual leg stand asap.

Those are small bikes! Carrying seven bicycles or even five on one bicycle is very cool! Please post pictures when you do it. The first time I carried one bicycle on my B.O.B. trailer I felt like I was passing a milestone of sorts. I no longer needed a car to transport a broken bike to a shop for repairs (as long as I have one bike in good repair to haul the broken one). Carrying a whole fleet of rental bikes is a whole 'nother thing! Wow.

The new bike rental service in DC has mechanics who travel by bike to make on site repairs and they have an electric bike with trailer to carry bikes. They had three bike racks on the trailer but removed the middle rail to make room for a large bin to carry tools and stuff.

Went to college today to teach a class on winter cycling... was nice to see three racks full of bikes and the attendance was excellent and enthusiastic.

There are a lot of crazy people here.

Was carrying enough winter gear for 6 people today...



There were two other stations of racks that were also very well attended...



It was a 40km round trip as I had to go and pick up a bunch of display items at the bike co-op first and then I tacked on another 16 km tonight so it was a 56km / 35 mile day.

The weather was also too gorgeous to be talking about winter cycling.

Strapped 4 Carryme folders onto the back of the Yuba Mundo this morning and took it for a short ride. It was a little squirrely when going slow but manageable. The bike probably would have handled better if I loaded the bikes more toward the front rather than behind the rear axle. Ordered the "Stand Alone" two legged stand which should make loading and unloading the bike easier.

Grocery run yesterday with my two boys. I never thought I'd need panniers on a frontloader cargo trike, but when you add a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old, it gets crowded!

January 29 a bunch of riders moved the entire contents of Andy and Moira Dyson's house to a new place about a mile away. I don't think this many utility bikes has ever been assembled in the Louisville area. This is a shot of the trailer-pullers...

Velopalooza has begone in Vancouver, BC. So in spirit of things I collected up some old frames and rode 20km to a freak bike workshop. Hoping to build a tall bike over next couple weeks.

Had to add some red cloth to the outsides since I was running a bit wider than my axles. Mostly stuck to cycling routes. And kept getting mad at stupid engineers who designed them. Those pole things that keep cars out also were keeping me out. Hit loads of them with the overhanging bits, at most I had an inch of clearance on most.

Had to move my drums to play a show. I usually haul things on the trailer with an older hacked track frame featuring a low gear ratio, wide tires, and a touring fork, but it was on loan, so my ss road bike geared at 46x16 did the honors. Good thing Chicago is flat.

My dog of 15 years is dying so I decided to go get some mortar mix for his headstone. The trip is about 5 miles over level ground with a slight headwind from the local Lowes.

Got the keys to our new place today and then carried over the first load of boxes(plus one kid). Moving companies here are EXPENSIVE. The Mundo should pay for itself with the money we save even if I only haul over half our stuff.
