Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ok so right around when I get my tax return...that could be handy timing.

$1500...do I want to get on board out of the gate or get a Quarq?

i wouldnt jump on board new technology like this at that price point. thats just me. Quarq is proven in both product and customer service.

on another note; so much for that $500 price tag some BF fools were wishing for.

later.

So happy they are look compatible. I don't see any issue being an early adopter since most bugs could probably be fixed with updates.

It's "Look Keo compatible" but it's not a Keo pedal. What does this mean? Can you swap pedal bodies with a Look Keo or does it simply mean you have to use Look's cleats to use it?

You could go in halfsies with someone else -- each keeps one meter and doubles the results...

I refuse to purchase an accessory that costs more than the original cost of my bike.

I wonder if that thing sticking out of the crank has a tendency to hit stuff / pick up debris.

Other than that - want it!

You can't do this. I read somewhere that it works as a "master/slave" system. The right pedal will not work without the left.

When you look at the current power options on the market $1500 for vector is a steal. The other options are either more expensive, more compromises, or both.

No mention of speedplay and no mention of Garmin 705. I'm out.

HR is good enough anyway as is perceived effort

I guess that's cool since I already ride Keo 2 Max pedals, but they might as well just make and include their own cleats since it's not using a Look pedal body. It's just another "Look style" pedal as far as I'm concerned. They could have just as easily went with Shimano SPD-SL cleats since people say they tend to wear better. I don't know since I've never used Shimano cleats, but I'm just saying...

Vector will ALLEGEDLY be available in March 2012 and will have a suggested retail price of $1,499.99.

Complete, total utter effing VAPORWARE.

Good grief you are all so gullible.

I get this feeling that they are still a long ways off from releasing this, but didn't want the product to show up at three Interbikes in a row without some sort of tentative release date and pricing.

I forget off the top of my head, but wasn't the original Metrigear slated for Q1 of 2010 (showed at the 2009 Interbike).

The pedals and the head unit will be about $2K. That's not a 'steal' by any definition. Still a compelling potential power option.

But still, total, complete, absolute, screaming effing VAPORWARE. It gets so offing old with these companies. March 2012. We should all friggin live that long.

From an engineering point of view i still dont think it can work, and if you happen to use varus wedges in your shoes i really dont think it can work - but what do i know
