^^ It is the same seller, he's had the Paramount on CL for over a year. I talked to him in late 2017, nice fellow. Somehow we never got around to the price...

Been watching that for a while. Not my size, but curious why it has the exact same fork as my Continental.

According to the seller, who it turns after he bought it at a thrift store found out he knows the owner who crashed it, wasn't going that fast when someone went down in front of him and his wife during a race. They had bought it from Tim Neenan at Lighthouse cycles and were not hurt in the crash AND the fork is still perfect, truly hard to believe.

I decided on a road trip today as I had rims in Eugene also that I could pick up from @deux jambes who also posted the BJ. Made the trip, had a great visit with both gentlemen. Got another frame from dj that he was going to scrap so all in all a very good day.

The tandem is obviously, probably just an oddity at this point but who knows, the story, fork, BB's each are worth the price of admission imo, never mind the wall art or?

Vintage Schwinn Paramount. Winter project??
$250
Indy (Fishers, IN)

https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/...774166740.html

What's interesting is the canti mount hiding under the brake, the bottle bosses on the underside of the downtube, and the position of the rear der cable braze. Some kind of touring bike. I guess the "Symmetric" style shifter lever bolt dates it. Was that early 80's. Did the Paramount line have anything like that?

That is not what they say it is. Somebody playing with decals.

Here's a 58cm Schwinn Letour with a lugged frame, fluted seatpost, downtube shifters, quick releases f/r and possibly a decent rr der (can't make it out), labeled a garage-cleanout beater. Might clean up nicely, firm-priced at $100.

Junk. The top tube is bent. The whole front end is bent toward the down tube.

Yuh, I wondered if that was just perspective distortion, as it seems it would kill most CL sellers to actually shoot from the level of the bike, and god forbid they back away and zoom in a little. But I think you're right; even with an extreme wide angle effect, the horizontal portion of the stem should not appear to point downward so far.

Might also explain the weird rust patterns. I've dealt with some rusty bikes before, but not so concentrated around the lugs. I'll bet the crash cracked the paint at all the lug joints.

1984 Specialized Expedition 54cm - $600 (wilmington)

All original Specialized Expedition. 54cm. The bike has new cables, hoods, bar tape, bottom bracket and 37mm continental touring tires. The seat was changed out years ago for my wife. VERY nice vintage touring bike. All of the other parts on the bike are factory specs.

My 84 Letour Luxe has brazed on symmetric shifters. Never seen it on a Paramount.

I did get it, mainly as a curiosity, I will have it looked at and see what they say. It's way small so not likely I will fix it. Its still pretty cool as bad as the damage is, the fork is still fine, amazing.

I'll take some more pics at some point so we can have a better look at it.
