Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I hate that. Waiting for something, tracking it, just so it can sit there.

I'll be on the trainer for the rest of my life, because it's never going to warm up here.

It's like I spoke it in to existence - the camera/light was just delivered. Now charging. I don't know why I'm charging it, but why not?

Still need to get a combo mount for it and the Bolt, but I'm running the temp stem right now, so that'll wait 'til after a permanent stem is sorted out.

Kudos.

Do you really not ride outside at all during the winter?

That would drive me nuts.

Right?

I have my new mountain bike all built up and ready to go, but trails the only trails that aren't closed for the season are more or less unrideable due to ice.

I know a lot of people that poach rides in the local state park even though it is closed to mountain biking from December thru the end of March, but I just can't bring myself to do that. I'm not risking a ticket just to go ride a bicycle somewhere.

Not sure which is better but the sound of the oboe is richer to my ears than the horn.

I'll ride if it's over 20° or so and the roads are clear. Usually, the first significant snowfall of the year kills it for me until spring - the streets get much narrower and icy patches (re-freeze from warm sun and cold ground) makes things sketchy.

Gotcha. You guys probably stay a lot colder than we do once winter sets in so things hang around. Typically snow is gone from the roads after a few days here, unless it was especially heavy.

The roads here still remain white, but that's just from all of the salt

I like the oboe, but it's no trumpet.

What fun is that?

I'll likely be selling the Domane - both it and the R3 occupy a similar space, with the R3 being the slightly more sporty of the two.

I just noticed that a sticker from the FD is on the ST. Oops. I took it off of the FD while installing it, so that I could access all of the adjustments, but I didn't want to forget whatever important warning was contained therein, so I stuck it on the ST temporarily.

And once I get some in some miles on it, real or fake, and know how much I'll need to tweak the fit, I'll get either a current Easton or Cervelo stem and trim the periscope.
