Didn't get down in there this time with the bike, but I'm headed back up there later this month. Might have to bring the stable.

I wanted to put my Rockhopper back into service as a utility bike but I couldn't find the right BB spindle in the parts box, so I pulled out this old Lotus Explorer frame that a friend gave me a while ago. The VO Left Bank bar and the cheap Bassano saddle were the only things that didn't come from other projects or the parts box. The riding position is very upright, which is what I needed to nurse a broken collarbone. The slack geometry coupled with the long reach of the bars & the short stem gives a lazy tiller-like steering but it was easy to adjust to.
Cool old Tektro knockoff of WTB Speedmaster cantilevers. Complicated to set up, but they have a crazy range of adjustability.
Stem shifters are underrated!
This frame was apparently a re-badged BCA (which had an identical Explorer model.)

Wow some real nice bikes you guys are coming up with ( anybody finds a set of Bull Moose bars they want to get rid of let me know, I need two pairs for my Specialized Hopper & Stumpy). I picked this up from a neighbor who was going to throw it out, a Caloi aluminum hardtail with mostly Deore LX on it. The brakes are Magura Race Lites ( rim crushers). Not sure what I am going to do with it yet but it does fit so I am keeping it. I also picked up a nice set of Specialized MTB Wheels that were mounted on a Huffy with Cannondale decals on it,7 speed Deore LX hubs & Specialized tires in good shape. I am going to put the wheels on my Rockhopper since the original rear wheel was missing.

Wow you don't see those Maguras too often, or a Campy mountain group. NICE finds!,,,,BD

The Rear Derailluer just says Shimano SIS (6 speed), which I'm guessing is low-end. It has Sugino Cranks. Other than that, I'm not entirely sure. But it's kind of a fascinating bike because their is so little info on it. It seems the model was made for one or two years then dropped.
